One of the Most Special Places We’ve Ever Stayed

Our stay at Hattvika Lodge in May was one of the most memorable travel experiences we have had anywhere in the world.
Lofoten is simply breathtaking and the wonderfully variable weather, from dramatic skies to crystal clear days, somehow made the experience even more magical.
We stayed in Hillside 7 and the view was spectacular. It quickly became a place we never wanted to leave. Every evening ended with a sauna overlooking the mountains and water, the perfect ritual after long days of exploring.
The breakfasts were outstanding and Fangst was consistently excellent. Huge credit to Simon and the culinary team. We genuinely looked forward to every meal.
Hattvika became the perfect base for adventure. With great recommendations from the staff, we explored the islands, celebrated Norway’s National Day, kayaked with Roland, enjoyed wonderful massages with Tilde, chartered a fishing boat and caught cod in the fjords, visited the Viking museum, hiked, photographed endlessly and experienced the surreal beauty of the midnight sun, watching it set around 11 pm and rise again near 3 am.
What truly set Hattvika apart, however, was the hospitality. Kristian and Guri have created something very special and were incredibly warm and responsive throughout our stay. Anna and the team were wonderful, helping with everything from activity recommendations to logistics. We even left behind a bag of winter clothes to lighten our travels and the staff graciously offered to send it onward for us.
We have traveled extensively and Hattvika stands out as one of the most special places we have stayed. If you are considering Lofoten, stay here. We left already hoping to return.

Amazing stay in the hillside. Breakfast was amazing and the chef came out with his special waffles. Staff was so friendly and helpful, had a great guide that helped us with hikes we could do. Amazing just amazing :)

We had an amazing stay at Hattvika lodge. Very comfortable room, very friendly and helpful staff and great experience. All the details were right and contributed to a most relaxing yet adventurous stay.

5* Our favorite place in Norway

We absolutely LOVED our stay at Hattvika Lodge. The views, the cabins and the people are all wonderful. The daily breakfast was a traditional Norwegian breakfast, which we loved. The location in Lofoten is perfect and close to so many tourist attractions and beaches. We can't wait to come back again!

Everything was incredible, staff was responsive and helpful, location was perfect, room was clean with plenty of space. I am not sure we will ever be back to Lofoten but if we are we would definitely stay here.
