Annmellendse at Resturanten/pizzaria. Amazing food!

This was a fantastic experience.
We were greeted by an incredibly nice waitress, who gave us a 4-seater table, with incredibly good chairs. We sat in an incredibly cozy room, with comfortable light, nice music at low volume. (plus because they played John Mayer) It wasn't that crowded, and you could very easily hold a conversation on a comfortable voice bearing!
They had a good, varied menu, with lots of great offers and options, with a great drink menu, and dessert menu. I ordered your Burger!
They didn't take long to give us our food, which was incredibly positive. When we got our food, we were greeted by fantastic dishes, which you got water in your mouth just by looking at.
The food tasted very good. With juicy meat, with lots of taste, incredibly airy to soft brioche bread, and good accessories.
For dessert we ordered their "nutella callsone".
It definitively lived up to expectations, and looked and tasted like a dessert from heaven.
All in all, this was a fantastic experience, and I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is either traveling to, through, or just driving past Geilo!

No reception and complaint will not be handled

You book a room of 20 m2 and get a much smaller room than requested. Booking.com not accessible and highland lodge does nothing because you booked through third party.
Digital check-in only no reception.
Ground floor looks fantastic out room are very minimal.

Pleasantly surprised with our family apartment, and the balcony a bonus!

To be honest, we weren’t expecting much from this hotel as the photos didn’t do it justice when we booked, but we couldn’t find rooms elsewhere But we were delighted when we opened the door. In fact, from entering the hotel, we were pleasantly surprised. The self check in was easy, the bakery a bonus, and the room was so much more than we thought we’d get. Annoyingly we didn’t know we had any cooking facilities in our family room - not sure whose fault that is - maybe Heidi, who we booked through - maybe the hotel’s own photos and descriptions. But there was a hob, dishwasher, kettle, coffee machine and more. We didn’t have to survive on pot noodles and cup a soup with the travel kettles we took! The only negatives were no maid service, but we just asked for more towels at the bakery downstairs. We took our own garbage out and swept around the floors, so no big deal. WiFi wasn’t great at times. My phone didn’t connect and I killed my data! The pizza was quite expensive and not very filling. (We ordered takeaway from the restaurant and ate in our room) - but we were quite close to two Ski Bus stops and very close to two supermarkets. Shame we didn’t know about the swimming pool, or I’d have taken my swimming costume! The balcony was a great addition. We were in Geilo for a ski holiday, and weren’t disappointed. Would definitely consider returning.

Pizza Experience

We had ordered table for 10 pers and are put on different tables. We had ordered for 4 weeks ago and can not sit together, and could not turn on a little table either for us to sit together either. And it takes 20 minutes before they come and take the order in addition and they didn't have so much to do. !

Undercooked, Sloppy, and Wildly Overpriced

Very disappointing takeout from Highland Pizzeria. Both pizzas were undercooked with pale, doughy crusts and toppings thrown on sloppily—very uneven distribution, some slices almost bare. This was especially frustrating given the high prices and the fact that the restaurant was nearly empty (only a few people there) when I picked up. At this cost, a cheap frozen pizza from the grocery store would honestly be better. Not worth it—won’t return. If you’re still tempted to order takeout, definitely open and check the box before leaving the restaurant.
