Lovely hotel in beautiful surroundings

Tørvis is a beautiful historic hotel with a nice garden at a quiet side arm of the Lusterfjord. The hotel itself and the small village of Marifjøra is at a very quiet location as they are one or two hundred meters away from the main road along the fjord. Enough free parking places are available next to the hotel. The historic character of the hotel is well-maintained and kept alive. Many rooms are in a later built side building directly attached to the hotel. In contrast to the main building, they have a more modern interior. My small room with balcony was in this side building on the third floor and had a fantastic view over the fjord. Breakfast and dinner have been great, and there's also the lovely Kafé Marifjøra right next to the hotel. In my experience throughout the 3 days of my stay, all the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again at Tørvis Hotell.

Historic Charm, Paper-Thin Walls

Torvis Hotel certainly makes a great first impression. The historic main building is charming, cozy, and beautifully furnished, and the staff were always friendly and welcoming.
Breakfast was excellent—definitely one of the highlights of our stay. The restaurant staff occasionally seemed overwhelmed, but they remained polite throughout.
We had dinner there once. My halibut unfortunately had the texture of rubber, suggesting it had spent far too long in the kitchen. The rest of the meals were decent, but nothing particularly memorable.
The biggest disappointment, however, was the room. We stayed in a first-floor garden-facing room. While there was no fjord view, everyone walking through the garden had a perfect view into our room unless we kept the curtains closed.
Even more problematic was the lack of sound insulation. We could hear virtually every conversation, and movement from both neighboring rooms. It genuinely felt like we had booked three rooms for the price of one.
The hotel has plenty of character, a lovely atmosphere, and a fantastic breakfast, but the room experience made it difficult to relax. With better soundproofing and a few improvements to the guest rooms, this could easily be a much stronger stay.

Very worth a visit

Fantastic great place, the location is idyllic, quiet and quiet. Great to sit out in the garden with a book, suck the impression in Norway's oldest hotel. Fantastic great breakfast and nice service. Recommended.

It was good to be here!

Lovely place in Marifjøra where both hospitality and food were to be noticed. Here we will come again. The hotel is a jewel, with its fine rooms, furnishings and an exquisite location right by the beautiful fjord. Quiet and quiet.

Beautiful hotel from a bygone era

The hotel enjoys an idyllic position on the shores of the Lustrafjord, in the the small village of Marifjora. It is one of the oldest hotels in Norway with a guest house first established here in 1639. It purposely avoids modern amenities such as TV’s and has many areas in the hotel filled with seating, antique furniture, books, pictures and historic household ornaments.
Rooms have lovely views across the fjord, with comfortable beds and modern bathrooms that provide an excellent stay. We also had breakfast and dinner here in a beautiful well-appointed dining room, both very good. Pricing also very competitive for Norway.
We only stayed here for one night on a road trip around the region but could envisage returning for a peaceful relaxing day in a beautiful part of Norway.
