The view's the thing!
Stayed just one night in this pretty standard Scandic hotel. Best feature is undoubtedly the view across the fjord from the bedrooms. The rooms themselves are small but adequate and at least they have tea/coffee making facilities. Comfortable bed and good shower. Food at breakfast and dinner was good with a wide variety of hot and cold dishes. Drinks reasonably priced by Norwegian standards. All in all a pleasant overnight stop.

Bad human attitude can
We chose this hotel almost entirely because of its location by the fjord and the beautiful views advertised from the rooms. As tourists who came to Norway primarily to enjoy its incredible nature, having a nice view was genuinely important to us and was one of the main reasons we selected this hotel.
Unfortunately, our experience at check-in was very disappointing.
We were checked in by a female receptionist with short hair and glasses(with red hair). We were given one of the rooms facing the parking area and the town rather than the fjord. On top of that, most of the lighting in the room did not work — the only functioning light was a single lamp above the bed. The room was also set up for three people, with an extra bed taking up space, even though there were only two of us.
We immediately returned to reception and politely asked whether it would be possible to change rooms. The receptionist refused, saying that the hotel was fully booked and that there were no other rooms available.
This explanation was difficult to understand. The hotel has around 15 floors, and judging by the number of guests at breakfast and the number of occupied/illuminated rooms in the evening, it certainly did not appear to be full. More importantly, I checked Booking.com myself and was still able to find rooms available for booking at the same hotel for that very night.
Another unpleasant issue was the parking.
At check-in, we specifically asked the receptionist where and how we should park our car. She pointed out the parking area but did not mention that the parking had to be paid for in advance. The next morning, we found a parking fine of NOK 660 on our car.
When a guest specifically asks a hotel employee about parking, it seems reasonable to expect them to mention that the parking is paid and explain how it should be paid for. A simple sentence from the receptionist would have prevented this situation entirely.
Overall, what disappointed us most was not simply the room or even the parking fine, but the attitude at reception and the apparent lack of willingness to help.

The dinner that was a buffet is some of the worst I have ever been served in a hotel. I got small money in rejection of the bill. So recommend eating elsewhere in Molde. Breakfast was very good.

The hotel is centrally located and very close to the swimming pool, which was convenient. However, the room felt quite sterile and lacked any warmth or character, and the TV was surprisingly small.
For the price we paid, we expected more. There wasn’t really anything special to do at the hotel apart from having a drink and sleeping. Overall, the location was good, but we felt the price was too high for what the hotel actually offered.

Extraordinary design & outlook
This hotel has an amazing location and its design is stunning. We had a beautiful room with sea view - the view directly over the water was so unbelievable we actually felt as if we were on the ocean! However take care as our window on the 6th floor could be fully opened allowing anyone to fall out!! The public areas were lovely with generous seating, nice bar and a first floor restaurant with a wonderful sea aspect. However the buffet meal was fairly uninspiring with the desert featuring “tinned strawberries” in July, when we’d just passed many local strawberry fields and shops with punnets of wonderful juicy ripe fresh strawberries!!! On our travels, staying at several Scandic hotels, we discovered that there seems to be a ‘standard’ menu and hence ended up eating much the same food on successive nights at different hotels. For the size of the hotel we didn’t feel there were sufficient lifts and waiting with luggage in the lobby took forever to get to higher floors (there were no porters which we’d been led to believe there would be). Strolling along the harbour frontage in the evening was very pleasant and there was also a convenient supermarket nearby if supplies are needed.
