One of the best hotels I've been to
The room could have had more closets to leave the clothes. Excellent room and breakfast! And in a very good location.

Large, central & very efficient hotel but somewhat impersonal
A very large hotel, centrally located near the main station and (central Oslo is compact) within very easy reach of the old town & harbour. The main clientele seems to be post-cruise & business-focussed with lots of groups moving through. We weren’t in that category and so, despite a great room, it all felt a bit impersonal. This was very evident at breakfast, a fabulous buffet but incredibly busy in a vast dining space. It finished promptly at 9.30 when everything was whisked briskly away (even the coffee) and staff laid up tables for lunch, leaving the cutlery/napkins for our table pointedly ready on the one next door! Even turning up to eat at 08.45 felt rushed, most tables were some distance from the buffet and collecting items, coffee, juice etc took time & repeated trips. A shame as it was a brilliant buffet deserving of more than a workaday canteen atmosphere. Perhaps Clarion could allocate some more relaxed space for guests holidaying in Oslo and not rushing off to a train/flight/meeting? There’s enough room!

OK Stay
We arrived to Oslo via Go Nordic cruise ship and it was within walking distance from the cruise port. It is located right by the train station and most sites are within walking distance. We used the exercise room, pool and hot tub. The pool is small, but the hot tub was large. Neither were busy. The rooms were nice, but the pillows were odd. One was way too large and stiff and the other was too small and flat. We had an early train to catch so missed the large breakfast buffet, but they had a smaller breakfast (early bird) which was just OK without many option. I would have scored higher if we were able to have the whole breakfast buffet and better pillows.

Unfriendly staff, makes nothing of its location, uncomfortable bed and room was 25c (it does not have AC)

Convenient location and comfortable.
We were visiting for 3 nights in Oslo. We booked a family room which had a double bed and a sofa bed. The room was spacious and a corner room so we had a balcony that overlooked the tram station and was across from the Oslo Mall.
The rooms are quite noisy with the noise from the trams until quite late into the night.
The bathroom was spacious with two sinks, walk in shower. Ritual bath products were provided as well as two bath robes and plenty of towels.
A safe was in the room and there was also a mini bar and an espresso machine.
The location was great and we were able to walk easily most of the sights. We did use the tram outside to travel to the port to catch the ferry over to the museums and made use of the Visit Oslo Pass to use the train from the airport and the trams as well as access to the museums which we felt was convenient and offered a small saving.
The breakfast at the hotel was fantastic, plenty of choice from continental meats and cheeses, cooked breakfast, a selection of fresh fruits, pasties and cakes. I also had a freshly made omelette which was delicious and highly recommend having one with everything in!
The daily maid service was not great, and we asked for an additional mattress topper that did not surface along with some additional coat hangers as there were only a few for 3 guests and given we were staying for 3 nights we could've benefitted from more.
We visited both bars and drinks were very good and the rooftop bar was lovely to experience with great views of the city as the sun went down.
