Overlooking Telegrafbukta Beach, Sydspissen Hotel is only a 5-minute drive from Tromsø city centre. It offers free Wi-Fi, a large dining room and free private parking. Extremely Quiet with lovely views
You get towels, loo rolls and there is shower gel and soap in the en suite with shower cubicle. There are no tea/coffee making facilities but you can ask at reception for a kettle and hairdryer. We took our own tea/coffee but you can buy pizza, snacks and drinks from reception too. There is no bar area, but reception does have seating where you can watch tv or relax reading a book looking across the fjords.
Breakfast is continental - cereals, cheese and meat buffet, bread, fruit and yoghurt and boiled eggs. It was nice at the weekend when breakfast was served until 10.30 so we got a lay in.
Parking is free and ample. There are bus stops very near and the buses are regular. We paid about £5 to get into town (10 mins). We also walked in the snow a few times (wear Trax on your shoes as it can be icy on the pavements) and it took about 45/50mins from the hotel to the Tourist Information centre. There are two supermarkets nearby and a petrol station if you hire a car.
The staff were all lovely and helpful and even the cleaners were chatty and came every day. They all spoke excellent English and helped us with our Norwegian pronunciations!
The hotel is not luxurious, but we couldn't really fault anything, as everyone was so nice and the place so laid back and relaxing.
I would recommend this hotel as affordable, peaceful and a great spot to catch the Aurora at night with stunning views in the daytime.

4 days in Tromso
Our room was comfortable, clean & well equipped with a fridge, tv & comfortable bed! Kettle, iron & hairdryer from reception with no charge of deposit required!
We were lucky enough to have a sea view too!
Breakfast was available for 3 hours from 6am with a wide selection & a gorgeous view from.tne dining room.
3 different flavours of pizza were available in the evening if we didn't fancy heading out which was a great addition to the B&B hotels services.
All the staff were friendly, knowledgeable & welcoming.
We had the best time! Highly recommend this hotel.
Dog friendly too!

Good place to stay!
Unfortunatly I forgot my reading glasses in the room, and they sent it back in mail!
Really kind people!!!
The hotel is clean and comfortable, and has a jackpot location (at least for me)
And I can say it is fair enough for the price.

Lovely hotel, perfect place to witness the Northern Lights!
It didnt dissapoint amazing views from our room and a 2 minute walk took us to a pitch black spot on the beach where we watched the lights appear time and time again.
The hotel itself is basic as is the room and breakfast included but it did everything we needed and the staff are very helpful.
it is a 35 minute walk to the centre but we got a 7 day bus pass and it was helpful it takes around 8 minutes on the bus and you can travel everywhere across Tromso on it.
we will look to come back to Tromso again very soon and i probably would not look to book anywhere in the city as it has such a good spot to view the Northern Lights on a clear night here.
