Bowshar Hotel

I stayed a night here. Clean, quiet rooms with simple and somewhat dated furnishings. On the third floor, smoke gets into the corridor but thankfully not the room. They may have forgotten to provide a spoon when I requested one.
While somewhere between the airport and Mutrah without being close to either, it's walking distance from Oman Avenues and Muscat Grand malls The Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque and Natural History Museum are a short oTaxi ride away.

Needs improvement

I tried booking at bowshar international hotel, because i heard a lot of good things about the hotel especially it is near the oman avenues mall. When i arrived at the reception i payed cash, confirmed reservation (usual). Check your change before you leave because that was my mistake coz i was too tired from the travel and too occupied with my bags in my hands i just accept it and go straight into my room, its too late when i noticed that the change he gave me is less :( The room they gave me was too far from the elevator, ugh! The room was spacious . No complimentary water. No free coffee nor tea. Water in the fridge is not free. No kettle. The aircon is dirty. They did not offer to help me to carry my heavy bags when they saw me. Ask for receipt after you check out so that they cannot put "no show" in your booking in the booking app. I guess they know that i have a lot to say in the review afterwards. I still want to give this hotel a chance.. maybe next time its better.

Centrally-located, excellent reception staff, spacious clean rooms

I felt we were lucky to have chosen this nice hotel with many features of Arabian designs. The room was spacious and well furnished. A huge-sized bathroom. Free Wi-Fi. The location was excellent close to restaurants and two large shopping malls just across the road. We reported the broken only window in the room but we were told that the whole window must be changed which would be later done (hopefully it would be). The front reception staff were excellent and very helpful. I recommend this hotel which I will go to if I visit Muscat again

Great Location

The location is great - Oman Avenues Mall and Lulu supermarket is about 150m across the road and carpark. However it is next to a hospital and you may hear ambulance sirens once in a while - but that did not disturb us much as the sound wasn't too loud when in room. Taxi to airport was for 5 OMR (whole taxi not per person). Shared taxi to Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque was 200 Baisa/person. The room was big and clean but rather old. No complimentary bottled water nor tea/coffee making facilities. Breakfast was just 4 slices toasted bread, butter, jam, coffee and orange juice. OK hotel for convenience.
