A real gem of an hotel

The Mizingani Seafront Hotel was built in 1865 as a Royal Honeymoon Palace. The building became the Customs House in 1928, later falling into disrepair. It was restored and reopened as a hotel in September 2014. It's a beautiful Olde Worlde building that oozes charm and character.
Our room was on the third floor, and it was quite a climb up three flights of steep wooden stairs, in all, some 54 steps. The room was large and spacious with good, quiet air conditioning and a ceiling fan. The bed was firm but comfortable, with firm pillows too. There was a small fridge with a large, complimentary bottle of water. Lighting was adequate, but not bright. The small, modern bathroom had a large, proper shower cubicle with a rain and hand shower. There was a swish, modern hairdryer with razor adapter plugs. There were a reasonable array of toiletries. Our room was serviced daily, and the water and toiletries were replenished.
The inclusive breakfast was very good, with a wide variety of choices. There was plenty of freshly brewed filter coffee. The view of the bay from our breakfast table was stunning. The central swimming pool was magnificent, with clear blue water, and nice and warm too. We fell upon this hotel by luck, using booking.com. It's the best hotel we've used in Tanzania. We definitely enjoyed our two-night stay, which increased to seven nights.

Great hotel to relax and appreciate the views!

Our family stayed at Vereda Tropical Hotel for 2 nights and loved the rooms. It is a lot of steps to get the room, yet worth it. The hotel feels like it is something from the past, preserved to host guests today. Appreciate the fact that this is a small island with all supplies in the city, relying on the ferry for all needs. We were told the hotel changed one of its staff members just before we arrived, to hopefully resolve previous guests' issues. This is the exact type of accommodation my family enjoys, with great views of the ocean, ships and sky. We always have a deck of cards so if things are slow, it is a great time to break them out!
If you make advance reservations, be certain to have all details of the reservation with you.

Nice view but terrible service

The service is incredibly long, it was a disaster. Close to an hour for a pizzas. The server forgot our drinks and finally brought a wrong one. Would not at all recommend. The restaurant has a great view, good potential but they need to change people in charge of the service.

Basic Room with a View

We had a nice room with a view people would pay big bucks for. We stay at this quaint hotel on Taboga on our stay in Panama. The room was basic but nice. The doors open up to the ocean and a view of Panama City. Although we didn't have air conditioning in our room, leaving the doors open we got the ocean breeze. The island is quiet and the streets roll up early. There are only a few cars on the island so there isn't much noise. This is a total get away. The staff is friendly. The room came with a typical breakfast, plus they have a restaurant that serves lunch and dinner.

Beautiful, quaint boutique hotel

If you're looking for somewhere that has stunning views of the ocean and Panama city, with friendly service then look no further.
The hotel is by no means luxury but the price represents great value. The rooms are clean, have cable TV, A/C and a fan and it feels like you're staying at a good friends house.
The lovely restaurant with views of the sea does a belter of a Paella (and i do mean belter). They let us drink a bottle of wine we had brought with us and the staff are super friendly and helpful.
If you go to Taboga, stay here!
