Nice but needs improvements

The place has a lovely garden and kind staff. As for the location - those who like to be far from the city center (even that of Baňos del Inca, not just that of Cajamarca), will probably appreciate it, but it of course means spending a little more on the transport. For me, that would be worth the money if the place really was peaceful, but when we were there, a music event took place (which was not announced when we were booking in) and dogs were barking all night long (until the roosters took their turn). All would still be fine somehow, but we were totally disappointed by two things: I came with my Peruvian husband and our two-year-old son. We paid 200 soles per night for a cabin, which was freezing cold, with no window, just a hole, in the bathroom, with no insulation under the roof made of metallic pieces barely holding on together (so the cold came through the holes too and it was colder inside than outside) and the wood we were suppossed to be supplied with regularly (included in the price of the room) came only once when we insisted, in the form of three little chunks that lasted for half an hour... I understand there is no central heating in Peru, but we were told we´d get supplies of wood to keep the fireplace going, which simply did not happen... My son and I both got sick with inflammation of the upper respiratory system due to the cold! We even went to buy some wood on our own (which was quite a mission but luckily one person at the Central market told us where to obtain it), but it seems that the whole fireplace is just badly made and the heat was all going up the chimney, without heating even the front part. Secondly, we were only given two towels for three people, those were never changed though in the cold and humid cabin they would never dry after the first use, the cabin was not cleaned even once during our stay of four days and no one even took the garbage out (though I asked for it) which was bad as my son still uses nappies, I had my period, you cannot throw toilet paper down the toilet in Peru and the dustbin at the bathroom was the smallest one it could be. We were only given one little hand soap for the four days. So, for the lacking cleaning service and for the state of the cabin (which truly does not correspond to a 200 soles per night), lacking the wood, towels etc., I am forced to give just three stars, though I do have repeat that the staff was generally kind with good vibe. The breakfasts and lunches (though served outside and thus getting cold quickly) were good, and we appreciated the option of using the shared kitchen. I hope the owner can improve the cleaning service and the cabin as such - or charge what corresponds to what is offered in that particular lodging (no need to say the rooms in the main building are of completely different, much lower prices).

Dear Belle
First of all, we would like to sincerely thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review of your experience with us. We deeply regret that your stay did not meet your expectations and that you and your family experienced discomfort during your time here. Please accept our most sincere apologies for all the inconveniences you encountered — from the cold in the cabin and the limited firewood supply, to the cleaning service and amenities not being up to the standard we aim to provide.
At Kinti Wasi Casa de Campo, we pride ourselves on offering a warm, nature-filled, and peaceful space for our guests. It is clear from your feedback that in your case we fell short, and we take this very seriously. Your comments will be shared directly with our team so we can improve in the areas you mentioned: heating solutions in cabins, frequency of cleaning, provision of towels and toiletries, and ensuring clear communication about any events or activities that might affect the tranquility of our place.
We truly value that you highlighted the kindness of our staff, the quality of our breakfasts and lunches, and the option of using the shared kitchen. We will work hard to ensure that these positives are matched by consistent quality and comfort in all aspects of your stay.
Thank you once again for helping us improve with your honest review. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again in the future and offer you the peaceful and comfortable experience you originally expected.
Warm regards,
Abraham Miñan
