Lovely courtyard & amazing view

Booked with Amaru Inca but we were moved to their sister hotel, Amaru Colonial. Lovely warm rooms and hot showers. The courtyard was beautiful and the view was amazing. 1 of our 2 rooms had a balcony overlooking the mountain Friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast is served from 5:30am which is great if you have an early pick up. There are 2 lovely women serving breakfast who cook eggs to order. There are also (the best we had on our whole holiday) lovely crusty rolls, cereal, ham, cheese, various fruits, yogurt & cake. It's the perfect location - loved being in the middle of the small streets.
☹️The other guests were too noisy in the courtyard at 5:30am before going out for the day - I had to tell them to be quiet. Perhaps there should be a sign in the room stating quiet hours.
Rooms are a bit too small.

Beautiful Garden Travelers’ Hotel With First Class Staff and Customer Service in San Blas, Cuzco

I spent 10 days at the Amaru Colonial. The property sits a bit above the busiest part of San Blas. But it is convenient to stroll further up or down to the Centro. My room was super comfortable. You can request rooms with panoramic views for an upcharge. The courtyard gardens and common spaces are very comfortable. The place is spotless. Most importantly the staff is first class. Brisayda at the front desk, always friendly and helpful, Brandon who assists arrivals and does housekeeping, Rita and Margarita run the breakfast buffet that opens at 5:30. Always with smiles on their faces, they keep the busy buffet replenished and always full. Amaru Colonial is an outstanding travelers’ hotel with a wonderful staff, plenty of quiet and comfort amidst the bustle of tourists in Cuzco and its San Blas barrio.

Nice spot in Cusco

We stayed in Amaru Colonial both before and after our trek to Machu Picchu.
Positives:
- Excellent room for the price.
- Hotel courtyard is gorgeous.
- Breakfast was good, limited options but done well. Eggs cooked to order. Only open until 0930 was slightly annoying though.
- Location is good, but not perfect (in hilly San Blas, about 10 mins from main square).
- Stored luggage for free whilst we were trekking.
Improvements:
- Odd to take room key for them to clean room.
- The whole being buzzed in and buzzed out process felt strange.
- Shower took a while to heat up.

Incredible views & great location

We had a wonderful stay at Amaru Colonial. We spent eight nights there and felt well cared for throughout our visit. The room was spotless, the location was excellent, just a short walk from Plaza de Armas, and the breakfast, while simple, was good. The view from our room was absolutely incredible.
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Cusco. It’s worth noting that there is a fairly steep hill between the plaza and the hotel, which is something to consider when booking. Though this wasn’t an issue for us.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Charming, beautiful stay in the heart of Cusco

We had a wonderful experience at Amaru Colonial. The property is absolutely beautiful, full of character, and has a charming colonial feel that really adds to the experience of staying in Cusco.
The rooms and common areas were nicely kept and very clean, and the overall atmosphere was peaceful and welcoming. The staff were incredibly helpful and kind, always available to answer questions and assist with anything we needed.
The location was also excellent—close to everything, yet quiet enough to relax after a full day of exploring.
Overall, this was a fantastic stay. Charming, comfortable, and well located. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it.
