Terrible experience.

I made a reservation for my parents at the Casa Andina hotel in Ica (located in La Angostura) for 3 nights and 4 days, for their 35th wedding anniversary. However, upon returning, they told me it was a terrible experience, since the hotel is still under construction, with men working during the day and afternoon, carrying things back and forth, making very annoying noises which prevented them from being able to rest in their room and from being able to enjoy the pool even for one day, forcing them to leave the hotel facilities so as not to have to be affected by the disturbances. It should be noted that at the time of booking, the hotel does NOT mention anywhere that work is still being carried out and that the hotel is not finished.

All staff extremely welcoming. Called transportation. Restaurant team hustled and helpful. Clean, safe, quiet. Backyard view of the Bay sunset. Not walkable to El Chaco.

Very nice hotel just down the road from Las Dunas but at half the price. It is in a safe area with friendly staff and good breakfast. Room was a little basic without bottled water, fridge or tea/coffee facilities but was large and air conditioning worked very well.
Decent mini-Market is 15 minute's walk away for in room snacks.
Nice bar area where they also serve food from 1300 to 2200 and we ate there every day. Service also continued through a rain-storm where most employees were out with their mops and brooms trying to control the flow of water.
Overall, a very pleasant 3 days were had there and would recommend. One lady spoke very good English. With other staff it was broken Spanish/English between us with gestures - all taken in good humour.

The two reception staff helped us to check in and made us feel very welcome despite us not being able to speak Spanish. Thank you, muchas gracias. The food in the restaurant was delicious and the waiter very kind and friendly.
