In a secure sector of the city

Hostal residencial Cesar Alberto is situated on the corner of a nice little street full of restaurants and boutiques. It is also not too far from main streets where more activity is going on. It is also close to some museum. The hostal was refered to me by a friend and I would say that it is not a palace but it is quite alright. The room was big and it had a private bathroom that was also spacious with hot water. The staff was nice and did their job. Price was a little high (25$/night) but listen you're in Lima. They have a taxi service available at the hostal most of the time and had reasonable rates. There is no restaurant service or breakfast included but close by there are lots of them. So yes it is a place I would recommend but don't expect too much . . . far from first class but does the job.

Twenty dollars a night.

You get what you pay for here. Not much to do around here, wifi is intermittent and does not reach inside the rooms. Hot water only at night, not in the morning
I would recommend you pay a little more and get something closer to miraflores or barranco.
Be careful checking the bill too. There seemed to be some big discrepancies.

Much better alternative to Miraflores

This hotel is a little further out away from the center, but is within a short distance from Miraflores. It is based on a trendy street, with lots of shops and cafes.
The hotel is clean, well run by a friendly family, as is cheaper and better value for money than the cheapest hellhole in Miraflores. They are building their breakfast area, and so it will hopefully much better if they can include breakfast as an extra. My one gripe is that they could clean the rooms more often, regularly, even if you are in the room.
Other than that, it was quiet, the water worked OK, the WiFI was excellent, and the sweet old guy who works there is a treat.

Excellent value for money !

Spacious rooms, good Wi-Fi, cable and hot water. In a quiet neighbourhood with a 'village' feel to it, yet a 10 minute bus ride to the heart of Miraflores. This place is a gem @ 60 soles for a big double, shops, restos, cafes and panaderias on your doorstep, perfect !
