Great staff, great hotel!
I honestly had such a great time staying here. I stayed here on my anniversary and we had such an incredible time. The owners were so lovely and helpful. Also, the staff were so hospitable and helpful- thank you so much! The location is great and the decor is just incredible. I highly recommend this place!!!

nice property, poor attitudes
We stayed here for 3 nights. On the first night we we were held up at the Cusco airport for 3 extra hours without internet service. By the time we arrived to San Bartolo it wasn’t until after midnight, which yes would probably have been annoying to the staff (and for us as well!) This seem to set the tone for the rest of our days here, we were treated not exactly poorly, but not like paying guests. We were given the small room by the front desk and not until 6 am on the day we were checking out did I find the “oasis”, behind the desk and down a small hallway (which from the entrance, looks like it’s an off limit area for staff only). I’m actually pretty disappointed that we were never given a tour in our 3 nights stay. This is an FYI to the owner of the property, I’m in the hospitality industry (have a hospitality degree) and when you are not around your staff is not 5 star! Your property is nice, your design shop is beautiful and the location is right!

Dont stay here!!!
When i arrived with my 7 year old son they told me we couldnt stay here with him because no kids allowed. Then the Owners wife who was extremely rude tried to charge us 80 solos more when we already pre wired money to them months before. The pictures on the website doesnt match the actual look of the rooms. The jaccuzi was empty and when they filled it up we discovered that it was ice cold and never got hot. The beach acess which is a 10 minute walk was disgusting and rocky and very crowded. The food in San Bartolo is horrible so make sure you plan on cooking or making other plans.

Lovely family atmosphere
This is a lovely little hotel, when we stayed there the owners were having a family gathering and they welcomed us with open arm to join in with their celebrations - had a fantastic time, and leant to play the spoon and glass bottle in time with the muscial jamming that everyone was involved in. Aside from the party, the hotel is up the hill from the beach and a short walk to the centre of town. The room we stayed in had a window looking onto the pool in the courtyard. There are plenty of spaces to relax, around the pool there are deck chairs and sofas and tables under the awning. The are interesting ornaments around keeping in with the surfer theme.

Beautiful, Friendly, Good Food, Wifi!
I had a very positive experience at Kauhuhu in San Bartolo. The owners are very friendly and helpful, the hotel is very clean and beautifully decorated and the food is great. I enjoyed many coffees while working and using the wifi while overlooking the surf and sunsets. 5 stars!
