I felt at home

We stayed at this hotel with my family and felt at home. It is a very cozy place, with a lovely vintage style. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The owner is very attentive and always watching that everything is okay. Also, the location is very good. We highly recommend it.

It's like home | Como en casa

I was hosted there 3 or 4 times in different months (different years since 2017). The Duke Hostel is an old building really close to the beach, the local market, banks and restaurants. To myself this place is really special, because Otto, as an old-school surfer, gives me lots of advises about how to ride El faro (the mitical slab there) and after all these conversations I consider him a friend. The rooms are clear, modest and really basic. It is really helpful could use the small kitchen after to buy fish in the fish terminal. I recommend this place to surfers, watermen, and people which are looking for a modest and quiet place. Definitely the Duke have a great atmosphere, because of this I want to go back there after the current lockdown.

Decent

The people are very friendly but the building itself is quite old. The kitchen was a bit dirty (quite some dust) and didn't have much equipment.
It is the only place in town where you can rent surfboards, but do check if the leash is still attached to it as the owner takes the leashes of boards when he wants to use them himself that day and is not in a hurry to put them back on again.
Big plus was the tv in our room, which also had some English channels for those interested! ;)

Good hostel - surf surf surf

I was here for 1 night, very sweet and friendly staff, I talked with them for a long time about traveling and safety.
This is very good people working here.
This is the perfect hostel if you are a surfer in town and wants to sleep at a nice, safe, cheap and most important of all - a hostel that makes you feel like home.
+ there is a kitchen!

Reasonable prices but ...

It is close the beach but the building is kind of old, the wood at the floor creaked with each step. They offer TV cable and private showers. I had all but privacy, because anyone could watch through the wood roof.
