★★★★★ Luxury, Service, and the Perfect Machu Picchu Stay
SUMAQ Hotel was an exceptional part of our Peru journey and the perfect place to experience Machu Picchu.
From the moment we arrived, the hotel felt luxurious and refined while still celebrating Peruvian culture and design. The finishes, décor, and overall atmosphere struck the perfect balance between high-end comfort and a true sense of place.
The rooms were beautiful, and we especially appreciated the thoughtful details throughout our stay. The bath amenities were excellent, the shower was wonderful after long days of exploring, and touches like the pillow mist and foot lotion made the experience feel extra special and memorable.
The restaurant was another standout. Not only was the setting beautiful, but several of our dinners here were among the best meals we enjoyed during our entire trip to Peru. The food, presentation, service, and atmosphere were all outstanding.
The location could not have been more convenient for visiting Machu Picchu, making it easy to focus on the experience rather than logistics.
What truly elevated our stay, however, was the service. Every member of the team was warm, welcoming, and attentive. We were especially impressed when the hotel coordinated the delivery of our luggage directly to the Hiram Bingham train, allowing us to fully enjoy our final morning without worrying about our bags. It was a small detail that made a big difference and perfectly reflects the level of hospitality at SUMAQ.
If you’re visiting Machu Picchu and looking for a hotel that combines luxury, exceptional service, beautiful dining, and an authentic Peruvian feel, SUMAQ is an outstanding choice.

Amazing stay on the river with a nice view of the mountain. One of the best restaurants in Peru! Very welcoming and courteous staff. Francesco stands out with his smile and excellent service. Everything Excellent and clean!

Vey good food. In top 5%
Only went to the restaurant, but the hotel looks great. The food was the up there with the best we had in Peru. It was all in with our package which normally means average BUT this was top notch. Clean, good selection, Good service. Would strongly recommend. Easy to walk to.
