Kindness in Coron

What a nice find One Averee Bay Hotel was, we had an excellent stay. Firstly location, it's ideal. Out of the hotel & turn left, you're at the jetty where all the tour boats depart; turn right & 5 minutes walk you're in amongst the bars, restaurants, & shops.
We went for the Deluxe Balcony room which was huge! Nice views, comfortable bed, good a/c, clean bathroom.
Breakfast included, just simple stuff like corned beef, eggs, & rice, pancakes, etc.
What made the stay really special was the staff. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel welcome. We flew from Cebu so arrived around 10.30am but the hotel kindly gave us our room straight away. My wife wasn't happy with the bedding, didn't like the single sheet & preferred a duvet; no problem, when we came back from our day out, all the bedding had been changed. No kettle on the room, again no problem, one was provided. Beach towels provided for our excursions. On our final morning we had an early ferry to El Nido, they made breakfast & coffee for us 5.45am. Huge thank you to all the team, especially Grace on the front desk.
I should add that the lift was out of service on our visit & the WiFi was patchy to say the least. Neither of these affected our stay & I'd happily use One Averee Bay again if we're back this way

Contrary to the listing, the hotel did not offer cooked to order breakfasts or a restaurant on site. Breakfast was a small buffet based on warming dishes that had no heat. Eggs, pancakes, assorted meats, etc., were basically cold. In addition, there was a large TV screen in the room, but no broadcast service. On the upside, the AC and hot showers worked and it was conveniently located near restaurants.

We island hopped and this was our favorite hotel. The room was spacious and had a pretty view. Our room had two bathrooms, lots of pillows and a drying line which was a pleasant surprise. Breakfast was great. Staff were very nice. Loved the location. The stairs were a bit challenging up to the fourth floor room but we embraced it. Loved it, would return. Great value for price.

Overall our stay here was great! The staff is very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The location is perfect, just off of the the busy street so you can walk to all the shops and most of the downtown restaurants within 5 minutes. The bay walk is also a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Hotel is very clean and the breakfast is really good, unless their is a large group they make it to order when you sit down to eat. If there is a large group it will be buffet style but they are continuously replacing the food so it's hot. I read other reviews about WiFi being a problem but we had some WiFi in our room and lounge area.
