A Peaceful Oasis with Exceptional Service

A small, very cozy place to stay. Beautiful, well-kept, and featuring a great, peaceful pool to enjoy during the day. The staff is extremely professional and friendly, always ready to help. The location offers great tranquility, though there are no restaurants, shops, or main roads nearby to catch a tricycle. However, the property provides a free shuttle service for distances up to 5.5 km. I am certain that if you stay at The Wander Nest, you will enjoy your time here.

BRIDAL SHOWER EXPERIENCE

Don’t let this nice-looking place fool you. Be very careful before booking here!
My sister planned a surprise bridal shower for me and wanted to make the celebration special. Before booking, she personally went to the resort and informed the staff that she would be hosting a bridal shower with approximately 15 people. With that information understood, she proceeded with the booking.
Later, however, the resort called and informed her that only 6 people were allowed in the villa, and that if there were more than 6 guests—or if any guests remained past 10 PM—she would have to pay an additional ₱2,000 PER PERSON, regardless of whether they were staying overnight or not.
These policies were never clearly communicated beforehand, despite my sister being upfront about the nature of the event and the approximate number of guests. Considering that she had no control over exactly what time guests would arrive or leave, she asked for a refund so she could book another place. They refused.
She was left with no choice but to continue with the booking.
My sister was beyond stressed for days, but she couldn’t tell anyone because the entire event was meant to be a surprise.
Then, on the day of the event, some guests arrived late — something that was completely out of our control. We had barely spent less than two hours at the place before we were approached about paying an additional ₱2,000 for each guest, regardless of whether they were staying overnight or not.
At that point, we couldn’t even enjoy the event. The entire experience became stressful.
I eventually asked my guests if we could continue the celebration somewhere else. They were initially confused since we had already paid for and booked the place, but everyone went along with it and we decided to continue in Alona. Some guests went home, while a few returned to the villa because they were too intoxicated to drive. They simply sobered up on the couch and left before I even woke up at 8 AM.
The following morning, the manager requested to speak with me. She arrived an hour late, and we ended up spending half the day waiting and trying to settle the situation.
We explained everything that happened. At that point, we weren’t even trying to demand compensation — we simply wanted to have a reasonable conversation and explain how disappointed we were with the entire experience.
This was the first time we stayed somewhere and felt like we, the paying customers, were the ones expected to constantly adjust.
There were clearly lapses in communication on their part, yet they were not flexible at all. If they had simply told my sister from the beginning that they could not accommodate larger groups or events, or if they had made the booking refundable after changing the terms, we could have easily booked somewhere else.
They also accused me of “verbally abusing” their staff.
No, I did not.
Was I angry? Absolutely. Was I livid and extremely disappointed? Yes. But I did not call anyone names or personally insult anyone. I was direct, straightforward, and vocal about how upset I was with our experience and the service we received.
They even made an issue out of the fact that we returned to the villa after a night out. Well… didn’t we pay for the place? Of course we were going to come back to the villa we booked and paid for.
To this day, I’m still upset thinking about how my supposed-to-be special bridal shower was ruined by this entire experience.
A beautiful place means nothing if there is poor communication, hidden or unclear policies, and no flexibility or consideration for paying guests. I hope they improve how they communicate their policies so future guests don’t have to go through the same experience we did.
TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

Amazing stay at Wandernest

Wandernest is my home in Bohol. This is my 3rd time at Wandernest and they just keep improving their services and facilities. Their services cover airport pick up/drop off, daily breakfast and housekeeping, itinerary planning, shuttle service, and 24/7 concierge. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable, welcoming, and stress-free stay. Thank you for such a magical experience!

Special stay created by special people

The Wander Nest was one of the best places we have stayed, not just in the Philippines but worldwide. Not just because of the great room, pool and facilities they offer but the care they have for every guest that enters the hotel.
Jera has been more than helpful prior to arrival, accomodating us extending another night as well as the massive task of setting up the perfect birthday celebration for my partner.
The Wander nest went all out to make her birthday the most special she has ever had. The whole team at the wander nest played their part to make it the most welcoming stay.
The team can help you plan your perfect holiday in Bohol, all you need to do is first book here and the rest will all work out!
Thank you Wander Nest team, once again for an incredible stay.
