The hotel has been nicely remodeled and the rooms are clean and well appointed. There’s nothing else in terms of amenities - no restaurant, cafe, or anything else - but there are plenty available in the neighborhood. I would stay there again, but would request a room not overlooking the road. The traffic noise just can’t be blocked out. I had to change rooms after a noisy first night, but the staff were very gracious about it.

A great little hotel of Thai or East Asia vibes. There's some effort put into architecture and construction making it a relaxing and cozy place of rest. A good find to be in Manila with good value for the price. Staff helpful and I had a courtesy.
The only things to improve a bit is that there should be a 24 hrs service at front desk instead of as of now 6am-11pm. There could perhaps be a need of change of toilets since they are of the older type. Had some minor issues with them.
For the noise sensitive: To be in Manila and especially in that area it is relatively quiet. You'd hear a garbage truck for 10-15 mins from about 6-7am in mornings from some viewless rooms. Not the view rooms to the Mendoza road. There's some other smaller sounds outside the building to be heard at times. But not from the building itself. It's remarkable quiet between doors normally.

Avoid this hotel. Not worth it!
I couldn’t sleep because the bed quality is terrible. They don’t put a comforter or duvet cover, just a thin bed sheet and blanket. It doesn’t feel clean. I don’t like the lighting- it’s kinda dark for me. I didn’t feel safe so I checked out a day early.
They have limited power outlets also.
Bad service. I got there around 1pm and they refused early checkin even if the room is already ready and available.the receptionist insisted to check in at exactly 2pm. I told her I will be checking out early, around 5am but she didn’t budge. Very inconsiderate because I was too tired. Really bad experience.

Nestled in the vibrant University Belt of Sampaloc, Oriental Zen Suites offers a serene escape amidst the bustling cityscape. With its blend of modern amenities and warm hospitality, it caters to both short-term visitors and long-term guests seeking comfort and convenience. I was in Manila at the time for training, making the hotel my home for 2 weeks.
The suites are thoughtfully designed, featuring air-conditioned rooms equipped with kitchenettes, private bathrooms, and soundproofing to ensure a restful stay. Guests appreciate the cleanliness and functionality of the rooms, with some highlighting the utility of the in-room kitchenette for light meal preparations
A standout feature of Oriental Zen Suites is its attentive and courteous staff. Many guests have praised the team for their professionalism and willingness to accommodate special requests, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere that makes guests feel at home . Even during a 3-day black out due to a broken powerline caused by the construction workers, they offered to transfer me into another hotel temporarily, the Hotel was truly topnotch.
Oriental Zen Suites provides a comfortable and affordable lodging option in Manila, especially for those visiting UST or exploring the city's historical sites. With its clean accommodations, friendly staff, and convenient location, it offers good value for money. Thank you for being my home during my 2 weeks. Until next time.
