Fantastic family stay
Loved that you can lie in bed and listen to the wind and waves.
Staff were all so friendly and helpful.
Food was good and I understand they are going to expand the menu a bit from mostly Japanese.
The guys organised a hire car for us one day which was dropped off early one morning.
The pool is big enough for playing with kids.
Played volleyball with some of the staff, guests and locals.
We would definitely come back again.
The coral/stones are a bit rough to walk on with bare feet when tide is low but it's manageable. If you have sensitive feet, bring some beach shoes if swimming but really, this is a surf beach.
Plenty of good beginner waves right in front of the hotel when we stayed in April.
While there's a bit of construction work over the road this didn't bother us, particularly when the wind was coming off the sea. There's a local disco on Friday night and while it was quite loud, I wouldn't let that put you off staying here. We were tired from surfing and no problem sleeping!

Good but can do better
Welcome and service at the top.
Quite large room with a beautiful pool and sea view.
Cons: air conditioning noise and hot water problem (resolved for 2nd night).
Good restaurant but Japanese speciality.

Disappointing Attitude of Owner and Misleading Accomodation information
Upon arrival at the resort, we found that there were 3 Villas facing the sea and 4 rooms on the first floor all at right angle to the sea. Overlooking a swimming pool.
Beautiful location, good surfing waves and sandy beach. ( Pity about the plastic).
Unfortunately, our room no 4 was very small (20 sqmtrs) and only 4 metres from the road. There was no wardrobe, no fridge, Television was impossible, water heater was temperamental. Rooms no. 1, 2, and 3 were 30 sqmtrs +. One night water leaked through the roof and ran down the light wiring. Causing the light bulb to explode..
We immediately complained to the manager who would not move us to the room that we originally booked ( Seaview Room 30 sqmtrs ) even though one of the rooms was vacant.(his reason was "The Domino Effect"?) Upon pressure, he admitted that room No. 4 was a Garden view room, not a Seaview room. which he further said was 30% cheaper than the Seaview room. He also informed us that they have been other complaints about room no. 4 and that the owner had recently changed the description from"Seaview"to "Garden view/budget room"
Our frustrations reached the Australian owner and his Filipina wife. After a long and frustrating discussion, they agreed to refund the difference between the two rooms.
The day before we were about to leave, the Manager three times asked for payment for the 5 days accomodation. We inform them that we will pay the total bill for accomodation plus food when we check out.
An hour later, the Australian owner and his wife appeared demanding the immediate payment for our accomodation, we replied that we will pay the total bill upon checkout which is normal...
The Australian owner then turned very nasty and amongst other insults called us trouble makers, suggesting we were scam artists and even threaten to call the police if we did not immediately pay.
It still hurts and makes me angry in the way we were treated. For the past 40 years we have travelled throughout Asia and never experienced such rudeness and lack of understanding and respect.
We paid the accomodation that day and the food account the following day
We then departed for General Luna for 4 days and a great stay in an excellent hotel to end our Siargao holiday. Needless to say we will never stay at Yapak Villa again !!!
In conclusion , the Japanese kitchen was excellent and the staff were great. its a pity about the attitude of the owner..
