Holy Week Stay at Timberland
Our family has often taken to staycations in Hotels within Manila to beat the usual traffic in and out of the Metro.
Since the Holy Week would definitely be the height of traffic, we opted to choose up please that wouldn't take us more than an hour from Quezon City. We miss Baguio and seeing mountains and fresh cool breeze so Timberland was the 1st venue that came to mind. This place has often been a favorite of the university where I work for seminars conventions and recreational activities. Last January my husband and I tried it out for an overnight stay and we kept on telling ourselves it would be great to bring our kids back here. Since my kids are both adults I opted to get a separate room for them. Our kids asked if their friends could come along for the day pass which we agreed to. The Day pass allows them to use of amenities such as the swimming pool the covered courts and the rock climbing area which they thoroughly enjoyed. The fee also included an amount allotted for consumable food and drink at the cafe Ridge.
I had made a reservation through their Viber account and I was assisted by Erica who assured me that my reservation stands.
Upon arriving, at the lobby I was greeted by Aliyah and Kar greeted us cheerfully. Since we arrived before lunch our room was not yet available so it was recommended that we have snacks at Baker J or the cafe Ridge. We were also informed that we could use the pool and other amenities while we waited for our room could be available. My kids headed straight to the Rock Climbing facility and afterwards, the pool area which had a good view of the cityscape.
At the cafe Ridge, we were attended to by JC who helped us rearrange the tables at the balcony since it had been raining and he wanted to make sure we would not get wet. Everything we ordered was delicious especially their burger where you can choose how you want it cooked so we chose medium well and although it took some time for it to be served it was worth the wait because it was juicy and flavorful.
Later on I was informed via Viber that our rooms were available. Upon retrieving our key cards at the front desk I was greeted by Gina who recognized me from our previous day. Having a familiar face really makes this place feel like home which my family and I always look forward to in returning. We were granted adjacent rooms. I was so thankful that both rooms had really cold and strong air conditioning because the heat in Manila was just unbelievable. A few moments later Kar called to check up on us to make sure everything was in order. Later on, I would make inquiries through their handset phones and I was able to speak to Gina making inquiries about their activities for the weekend she gave a detailed description of what we could expect.
After dinner, we went to the balcony where it was surprising to see an outdoor movie set up for the night. There was even a popcorn machine and a stand that sold churros first snacks. It was good to just chill outdoors with my kids while we enjoyed the cool night breeze. The following morning my husband had a buffet breakfast but this time we had it indoors because a lot of people chose to eat at the balcony. Their breakfast buffet can rival any five-star hotel in Manila because of its wide selection and variety of dishes ranging from Japanese to American and even Italian. Beside the omelet station was a pasta station. There were also free-flowing drinks which offered coffee, smoothies, and natural juices. We no longer availed of the late checkout because we knew more guests would arrive.
During check-out, Aliyah, Kar, and MM greeted me cheerfully and informed us of other packages for large groups and bike trails for future stays.
With a staff who feels like family, and amazing amenities, Timberland is our top choice for our next staycation.

The Ridge - Amazing staff and amazing food!
The food at The Ridge is really awesome! Especially the Arabic night! I am amazed by the service too especially Betty, Brent and Rey they are so helpful during our stay last August 6. While they also assisted me together with my team last August 9. My colleagues really had a great time and enjoyed our food!

The Leaf
It was really a refreshing time with the wonderful atmosphere of the rooms really nice, pleasant and very cozy with the interior and of course the outdoor with the beautiful nature view and the overlooking the mountains and the city. Their staff are truly kind and very accomodating as well, and make you feel at home and well-serviced and go the extra mile for their guests.
