Well known local hotel

We stayed here a couple of times on our last trip to the Philippines. There are different types of room but we stayed in one of the larger double rooms overlooking the ocean and nearby islands. The room was dated but very comfortable. The signal for the television was not always consistent. We liked the breakfast room and the buffet breakfast was very good consisting mainly of filipino food. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and we used the hotel transfer service to Surigao Airport. We will stay here next time we go to Surigao.

Poor choice.

Very spotty wifi, function room not well equipped. We had to bring our own projector and the screen was small. Service was limited, no flexibility. Food order had to be 50 minimum for 30 pax. Contract not fully followed.

We are happy it’s now open.

They just opened after changing ownership and it was great for us to be able to stay there. But, the breakfast was not what it used to be, Wi-Fi was again dismal, we had to go to the second floor to be able to use. Our room was clean with daily maintenance. The price for the room was extremely high compared to what it was before, or compared to Boracay. We look forward to staying next year and excited to see the improvements going forward.

Stay at the Tavern

If you would like to make a complaint. Do not go to the manager or the HR manager. All they do is say ok. The lift was not working properly. All I got was the engineer will come from CEBU to fix the left in Three weeks. Really I said. The staff are great and diligent and very friendly. Shame the manager is not more customer service orientated.
Its a three star hotel in my view its run like a two star hotel. You do not get value for money.The food is nice in the morning but geared twards the asian market.
The noise from the boulevard id terrible especiall if you on the fourth floor. You will not get any sleep at the weekend. Clean yes . This is down to the staff

Pros:
Excellent location (overlooking the sea, near the center of the city)
Good customer service
With free shuttle to ports and airport
Well-functioning AC
Strong wifi
Comfortable bed
Cons:
Room was too small for our liking
Not so clean restroom
Dysfunctional trash bin
