Home Away From Home

me and 3 of my foreign friends stayed in Villa Saturnina. Awesome place. The staff were very helpful to our needs. the rooms were comfortable and clean. The location is very convenient to get to the bay for island hopping. I stayed in this place twice. The second time is with my family.

Villa Saturnina Honda Bay Puerto Princesa

Villa Saturnina
Run a by a family that lives on the premises, Villa Saturnina is located close to the wharf from where one catches the Island Hopping boats. The owners are helpful and can organize Trishaws for local commute and make reservations for the visit to the Underground River. The rooms are alright, air conditioning was functional, a very large water bucket in the bathroom took care of the emergency needs when water supply fails as it does frequently in all of Palawan. The drapes and bedsheets could be more cheerful as could the wall paint, the owners talked about landscaping the place but the yard did have a cheerful mango tree laden with fruits though more flowers would have brightened up the place.
Mention must be made of Ben the shopkeeper next door who volunteered to be a guide as well as help with commuting in his Trishaw. There is also a hot springs close to Villa Saturnina if you wish to spend your evenings there. What remains in my mind is the sense of safety in Villa Saturnina, no doubt due to the presence of the helpful Owners within the small property.
There is a dining place in the property but I didn’t explore that. There is a restaurant right next door which serves decent fusion food, breakfast was adequate at under hundred pesos and there is a decent joint that serves Vietnamese food for a short Trishaw commute from Villa Saturnina

Needs some improvement

First of all the manager was very friendly and helpful! It's close to the warf if you want to go island hopping. The staff also helped us with organising the van to El Nido. The place is nice but..
- the cleanliness could be improved there were lots of dust, the mirror in the bathroom was really dirty.
- Baloons under the bed were the weirdest thing I've seen in a hotel. Made us think of "it".
- When we first came no one showed us the dining room and it would have been really nice to know there is hot water available. When we asked where we could eat the lady directed us to the main street, only later we found out that Villa Saturnina also offers food, no idea why she didn't say anything..?
- The breakfast was nothing special just egg and bread (not even butter) and paid separately.
- On the photo advertising Villa there is a sandy beach, which is confusing as the nearest beach is pretty far away. 1200 pesos for tricycle.
All in all it was a nice experience.

Homey and quiet BNB

It is located quite far from the city that we had to haggle with tricycles to bring us back to it after a day in the city. But the place was like home away from home. It was quiet with lots of trees. The room was spacious with three beds. The bathroom was clean. However, there were ants so we had to pull the bed away from the wall to avoid ants from crawling onto the bed. This is a quaint bed and breakfast, no pool or any other attraction. The breakfast was filling. They offered free shuttle service that brought us to various attractions within the city and to the airport. Our driver that time knew a lot about Puerto Princesa. He was also very kind and gracious and told us a lot of stories. Princess, our host, was also warm and very accommodating. She arranged our entire trip including the one to El Nido.

A good place to stay!

We never regret choosing Villa Saturnina. Thank you very much for giving us a nice place to stay and a very comfortable trip from airport to airport service up to tours and activities really hassle free. Priceless experiences and amazing place to treasure. God bless you Ms. Princess and Kuya Roger for taking care of us since the day we arrived. You have given us more than our money worth We've been here last Sept. 12-23, 2016
