Magical romantic wedding venue with perfect service

We got married here in June 2022, and it was the best day / weekend of our lives!
The castle itself is so magical and romantic; the venue area itself is a large square room with transparent roof and green foliage going up the walls on all sides, many of our guests gasped in amazement when they saw it. We booked the entire castle for the whole weekend, so had the whole place to our wedding party.
The food and service were top class – drinks seemed to be replaced by magic, the staff were so efficient and yet pretty much invisible in terms of intrusion to the party.
Our rooms were all furnished in a way very much befitting of a castle, which provided a great atmosphere, though the bathrooms were modern, which I expect for most people makes sense – I’m you wouldn’t want to pour your own bathwater, nomatter how ‘authentic’ an experience it might be!
Above all, Wioletta, the manager of the castle, is the most organised professional person you will ever meet. Very open and easy to talk to, she adapted the schedule to suit our preferences, thought of everything you could possibly imagine, and always had a prompt helpful answer when contacted in the (lengthy due to covid…) preparation period. She is an absolute credit to the castle.
The contract was agreed up front, and is what we paid – there were no unexpected extras or ‘upselling’, so whilst we paid a bit more than we might have in other venues, there was nothing hidden, everything we needed was included, and ultimately we feel it was worth every penny.
It’s also worth mentioning that the surrounding area, Lagow, is quite possibly the most beautiful place we’ve seen in the whole world. A small but buzzing village with stunning lakes, lots to do both in and out of the water, and a great bonus in terms of entertaining our guests.
Are there any downsides? Well, I guess for some you will get slicker facilities, more modern decoration etc in a modern hotel, but we’d much rather have the magic of the castle and the village any time.

Sometimes the appearance is clouded

The review is only for the restaurant. It is very nice that the menu is offered in German, and direct communication in German is not a problem. The dishes are beautifully presented, but the fish fillet had bones so we couldn't eat half of it. The beef cheek had slime in the meat. The food was not good for the price. €67 for two people (including dessert) is certainly OK for Berlin and Hamburg, but for a meal far, far away that doesn't even taste particularly good, it was a disappointment for me.

Lovely rustic castle.

Pretty close to the German border, and a bit off the beaten track- our satnav had us traveling up narrow farm tracks to get here.! We had a lovely suite which was huge, with a view over both lakes. There isn't a lot to do in the village apart from relax or walk. The bar is lovely, with vaulted ceilings and a good choice of drinks. The best thing about the hotel is the restaurant a lovely setting- great food and wine and extremely good prices. Service was a little haphazard but we had plenty of time to enjoy the food. We'll definitely stay again.

A beaautiful place with minor issues

We've stayed here en route to bigger trip, overnight - and it was a good stay; the dinner in restaurant and breakfast were good, the staff was helpful.
Why not 5*? well, our room was just asking for refresh, the room door we could hardly close (finally succeeded) and wifi was not working in our room, unfortunately.
Soli 4* with huge potential for 5, IMO!
