First visit to Gdansk

This was not my first choice of hotel - I was going to stop in the center of Gdansk but I chose Willa Marina for the sea front and the seafront hotel!
Now I imagine that in summer this is gorgeous and the hotel surroundings are probably busier but in September it was dead, a lot of rubbish around as well and you cannot see the sea even from the sea view room which was paid extra for BUT anyway I bit my lip and got on with it.
The rooms are amazing, clean and decorated beautifully and the cleaners are very good!
The location is perfect for us - close to the sea, Gdynia and a short ride to Sopot and close to a few tram stops into the center which we used every day. Convenient and cheap.
A lot of nice eating places and pubs in walking distance too!
THERE IS NO BUFFET BREAKFAST as advertised and it is no 18 zl.
You will pay and chose from the restaurant menu which meant us spending more than 18zl each day but not a lot much more - THEY HARDLY HAVE ANY CASH - so expect to pay on your card for breakfast unless you have EXACT money.
The staff aren't 100% with English but you can get by and my partner speaks a little polish.
All in all not as perfect as it looked which was a shame but I would stay again knowing what I do now.

A wonderful place by the Baltic Sea

A small hotel - wonderful location by the beach, in walking distance to the tram station so it takes about 15 minutes to travel to Gdansk city center and the main railway station. Very competent, friendly and helpful staff made us feel welcome - relaxed atmosphere. We loved the room and the balcony with sea view. Everything extremely clean and well cared for. Very comfortable beds. Bathroom very good - just shower, no bathtub. Breakfast not included but great inexpensive options available at the restaurant Mnie to Rybka on first floor: A very good buffet or a la carte with choices including english breakfast, omelet (very tasty) or toast. There are stairs - no elevator.
There are other restaurants nearby, but none as good as Mnie to Rybka. The beach is popular, so expect a lively scene outside the hotel and at the beach in good weather. For us it was a great choice for a holiday at the beach combined with exploration of Gdansk city.

Ideal for summer / beach. Good view. Lots of stairs

Located steps from the beach. I think only 9 rooms on 3 floors, where first floor in Europe means second floor in the US so with no elevator or rooms on ground level that i could see, it doesnt seem handicap accessible. 20 stairs to first floor, 17 more to second and 17 more to third, so pack light
I think all have sea views from large balcony. Mine did. I gave 4 stars but it's really 3.5 because of few shortcomings they can easily remedy:
No screen on balcony doors. So mosquitoes come in if you leave it open. No soap dish to put your soap and shampoo in while you shower. On second day they asked if i needed anything i said no. Maybe thats why they didnt make the bed or replace towels. But i had enough towels so it wasnt a deal breaker for me. I also think they had not replaced the sheets because i felt sand on the sheets but i had not gone to the beach. Make sure you check the sheets first
The place was hard for me to find with gps. Should email out driving directions. Its on the other side of Tapas Rybka restaurant which is easier to find. Check in is at the restaurant on ground level. Restaurant is decent and staff is friendly but there are a few other choices few feet away
Nearest store is 1-2 km away only 10-15 minute walk. You can probably take train to old town but it was about $6-7 each way with Uber
Has few (i think 3) free parking spaces

Fantastic

Cant fault this hotel at all. We had room 8 which is the top floor with a sea view. The room was quite small but ok for us. The balcony curves its way around about a 3rd of the building so you pretty much get some sun all day (and wind!! It can get very windy)
Shower room was perfect aswell .
The main thing though is the beach.. no more than 10 yards from the door and your there! Loads of beach bars too choose from (cheap aswell 2 beers 16zl) beach volleyball ect and its clean.
Also around the hotel is a decent amount of bars and resturants offering cheap/good food and drinks, kids play area ect.

REALLY BAD CHOICE

THE WORST STAFF YOU CAN IMAGINE:
You can think that it will be kind and nice staff - you cannot be wrong:
They act like they are doing you a favor. Forget about checking in earlier - they clean 6 rooms for 4 hours! and you have to wait outside" because it is the rule"
My rule for hotel is: client first. I travel for 7 month every year and that was by far the worst place I stayed. They are not only rude, but unprofessional (you can leave your luggage in reception that is just public restaurant, but..."on your won responsibility. If you insist on locking it - you have to call manager and carry it yourself on a second floor)
If you not getting room in the front - view is HORRIBLE.
It was construction when i was there - so not only noisy but zero privacy and no use of the balcony because builders were hanging our on the windows all the time.
you can think that location is good but:
it is also next to polish "Disneyland" with trampoline etc - so SUPER noisy and ugly
Restaurant is not worth eating – breakfast is cheap (but extra paid) – but less than average for an hotel standards
There are so many choice of accommodation – don't ruin your energy and good mood by staying with people who hate customers!
Everyone else will be nicer and probably cheaper.
So - don't bother… unless you have a choice to sleep on a beach
