I wasn’t expecting much going from the photos and price but when we arrived the staff were brilliant and the room was huge! The staff in the run up were always happy to help via the hotels messaging app also. It is very very close to the main square also. If you’re wanting a view of the main square this isn’t for you but it is literally a 60 second walk from the front door.

Good option in great location
Booked this place via booking.com about six weeks before travel. Looked on here and saw some worrying reviews but the experience couldn't have been more different.
Was warned that deposits would be taken and possibly difficult to get back. As is happened I couldn't find anyone on reception so didn't put a room deposit down at all.
Four of us were staying and the price was very reasonable. The location (once we'd found it - it's not well sign-posted so have your wits about you!) is fantastic and about twenty yards from the main square.
The courtyard once through the main door is lovely. The room we occupied (seven) was well equipped if slightly sterile compared to the courtyard, but it served its purpose very well.
A good experience in a wonderful city, both of which I'd happily return to.

Bad throughout - Room 11 really indecent
I booked through Booking at the end of September to stay from 31.12 to 05.01 a double room / twin beds. Payment would have been handled by the property and would have been in their currency, i.e. in zloty (this is relevant information given the unpleasant epilogue!!!). I write to the property to request the double bed, and the request was approved the same day.
On December 20th (as per my request) the structure tries to charge the card an amount in euros higher than that indicated on my reservation and not having found sufficient funds (as the prepaid card used as a guarantee contained the exact amount, or slightly more, than indicated in the reservation) they were refused payment. I was contacted by phone by the manager of the facility and wanted to explain that the rate was higher because I do not know what taxes. Ok I say, I immediately insert another credit card (this time not prepaid) and ask the structure to proceed with the charge. Not fully convinced of what was explained by the manager of the structure, I contact the Booking team explaining the situation and asking if it was correct that I paid an amount higher than the one confirmed in the booking; the answer was obviously no, Booking assistance contacted the structure, then giving me confirmation that they would charge me what was confirmed in the booking.
On the night between 30 and 31 December I receive two messages from the structure, the first with all the directions to enter the building and to take the room keys, the second to inform me that I would have a room with two single beds, since the double beds, given the many requests, were intended for those who guaranteed the reservation with a "working" credit card. Not very happy with that message, given the photos on the site I deduce that even the double rooms are pretty... (deluded!!!!)
We arrive at our destination, there was no one at the reception and our room, as anticipated by message, had two single beds, but more than a room it looked like a portion of the corridor converted into a dormitory. No one was present at the reception even the following day and in the end we preferred to leave things like this so as not to ruin our mood, as it was supposed to be a relaxing and carefree holiday.
In short, I'll make it short: the structure is old, poorly maintained, nothing is like the photos they posted on the Booking website; the staff is unprofessional, when I called them for a problem with the hairdryer I was told that they were not near the structure to use what I had in the bathroom, proving unkind and moreover incorrect given what they did with the booking charge (see below!); in our room one of the two mattresses was literally broken and sank, the other was passable. The padding around the gray beds has perhaps almost never been cleaned. The hair dryer, after 1 minute of activity, turned off (apparently went into some sort of protection) and you had to wait a few minutes for it to unlock in order to reuse it for another minute...drying your hair was a nightmare. the only day someone was present at the reception, I was provided with a “real” service hairdryer but the same evening it was no longer in my bathroom (I was told to use what I had in the bathroom!!). The heater was a wall-mounted electric heater that was constantly on and off, so with the snow outside I let you imagine the temperature inside the room. For those who watch TV on vacation or turn it on just out of habit, know that this only works with your Netflix account (if you have it!).
In conclusion, I would say that the property has published on Booking strongly misleading photos, which do not reflect the reality of the structure in general and even less of the rooms; ours (room 11) was quite disused to say the least. The bathroom was the real and only positive note (except the hair dryer).
But here comes the sore note... back in Italy we verified the card statement and the structure charged us a much higher amount than confirmed with Booking... and now try to recover that money will be a real nightmare despite having already contacted the Booking customer service several times.
Could I say I was cheated? Maybe so, since I was not given the room for which I paid and since I was charged a higher amount than confirmed. After 10 days from my return I am still waiting to receive the refund of the amount not due. SCANDALOUS!
