This hotel is terrible for corporate clients
If you are a corporate client (company) trying to book stay in Hotel Royal for your employee's business trip, never book this hotel.
Hotel has good location, quiet environment, nice historical building, rooms which are somewhat historical but cozy and good chefs.
Where you will be surprised by hotel staff unprofessionality, is when you are a corporate client. This means, you need to put the invoice for the stay in the hotel into your company accounting documents as an expense. And this is where go absolutely wrong.
In EU, providing service and issuing an invoice to VAT-Payer company from another EU member state is very different than for a physical person who came to enjoy holiday.
However staff is generally unaware of these things, and well.. they don't really care if hotel issued incorrect accounting documents, nor if your company will have problems with incorrect accounting documents. Creating possible future problems with tax authorities down the line.
Their maximum effort they sill do for you, is to call "I Know it All" manager who in reality has no idea what is he talking about. (For example he told me things like EU VAT reverse-charge mechanism is impossible between 2 VAT paying companies from 2 different EU states, indicating he has no understanding how VAT system and invoicing in EU works at all).
The level of discussion with this person was like if you are talking to village hot dog seller. Any suggestions to actually contact someone who is responsible for accounting and get some information are automatically rejected. Well, because "this is how things are always done".
Long story short - If you are a tourist, then hotel Royal is nice place to stay. However if you are a corporate client, especially from different EU country, I would avoid this hotel at all costs.
Well... unless you want to experience situations like tax authority in your state rejecting the hotel invoice as legitimate expense, because hotel's staff is lazy to ask their accounting people one or two questions.

Horrible customer service
The hotel staff (Patrick) was very rude and unhelpful. He wasn’t very interested while replying to my phone call (he said he has no time and very busy now (literally his words) texts (have screenshots from booking.com) and the way he was replying was like to his old friend. In the end I have cancelled the booking as nothing was really working. There was no transfer, no help with transfer, no help with late arrival. They position themselves as 4 star hotel, but they are not even a 2 star for customer service. Terrible experience. I hope 84 euros they retained for my booking will go off them 300 times.

Had to call the POLICE to get some sleep in a 4-star hotel
Second and final business stay here. The hotel rented out a tent for a corporate party with a DJ and put me in a room with a window right onto it. Bass through walls 50 meters away. After multiple requests at reception the music only got LOUDER – the receptionist told me it "wasn't his party" and to deal with it myself. I ended up calling the police on the hotel I was paying to sleep in. The party stopped only when the patrol arrived, after midnight. Drunken shouting under the window until morning.
Bathroom not even close to 4 stars – mold in the silicone, dirty shower door profiles, and the shower head attached to the rail with a CABLE TIE. Photos attached.
Nice historic building. Everything else – avoid if you actually plan to sleep.

Tragedy!
These 4 stars are probably added at night or for a bribe, because I don't know who could have awarded it and why. Dirty furniture, smelly, musty carpet in the room, you should be afraid. At this price, it's a joke. We didn't have the courage to eat breakfast after what greeted us in the room. MASSACRE. How can you treat people like this and "host" them in such a mess... the only thing is that the location is close to the airport and there was no choice ;( for the last time, I prefer to sleep at the airport.

Decent hotel for a stop-over flight.
Very quiet hotel located a short distance from Modlin Airport. We chose here for one night before we flew out again the next day. Hotel is a historic laundrette and sits in its own grounds. Very pretty hotel inside and out and friendly welcome. The rooms themselves are very 80s chic. Very big and spacious but not a whole lot in them. Beds were comfortable and the A/C worked well. Nice to have both a full sized bath and seperate shower to choose from.
We had lunch and breakfast in the restaurant which is very nicely decorated and presented. However the waiting time between ordering and receiving food for lunch was almost an hour, which given we were only one of two tables eating is not good enough. The food was pleasant when it came but a few of us had gone past lunch at that point. Breakfast was an 'interesting' continental selection but all looked fresh and well prepared. Nice hot tea and coffee on demand too.
Overall if I were flying through Modlin Airport again I would happily choose this hotel again, but certainly not a 'destination hotel'.
