A hotel with history
A hotel with history, you can climb the castle tower and admire the view, but at a different time than when I was there. The room is warm, but the overall design is a disaster, in addition, there is no drinking water in the room, neither during breakfast, one socket in the room. Nevertheless, the price is good and the food was passable.

Very Unique, Historic Castle Hotel
The region around Otmuchow only has a limited number of hotels, and we were lucky to have come across the unique and very historic Zamek Otmuchow hotel. Located on a hill overlooking the charming town of Otmuchow, the castle dates back to the 12(!)th century. Check in was friendly and the apartment room on the first floor very spacious. The single room on the second floor was much smaller, but very clean with a comfortable bed and small bathroom with good shower. That being said, this hotel has a bit of a hostel feel to it as the accommodations are fairly basic, which is reflected in the price. So, if you are looking for all the creature comforts of a 4 or 5 star hotel, this place would not be the right fit for you.
Still, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, which even included a free breakfast. Furthermore, dinner at the castle restaurant was delicious with wonderful service. The chicken gyros salad was fantastic!

An average hotel in a grand place.
We spent a week in Otmuchów and we stayed in a room somewhere in the town. It was the time when the heat wave hit Poland and sent temperatures into the high thirties, and if it hadn't been for the fan we wisely brought with us we wouldn't've managed. The room we stayed in was not particularly to our liking (it was furnished with no style at all, artificial flowers, cheap reproductions on walls etc.) but it was spacious, had a fully equipped kitchen and it was cheap. Generally, we liked the town and the neighbourhood so much that we decided to stay a day longer. We thought that this extra night we would treat ourselves to a bit of luxury by moving to the hotel. However, before moving we decided to do some recon and one afternoon we walked up the castle hill and asked the lady in the hotel front desk to show us around the hotel. After we had been shown all the room-types in the hotel we did not decide to move out from our room. Compared to what we saw, we started to appreciate the positive sides of it: peace and quiet (no other guests), price (one third of the price in Zamkowy for a double room), space (the room was huge compared to the claustrophobic space of the hotel rooms), and the kitchen. The only decent-looking and relatively fit for live-in were the two hotel suites, however the price was beyond what we were prepared to pay. Apart from the suites all the rooms were extremely small, with low ceiling, they were stuffy, and relatively uninviting. However, the staff we met during our 45 min long visit was very helpful, kind and friendly. All in all, a place with a huge potential if not for the obvious drawbacks - good for one, maximum two day stay, not for a longer sejour.

Nice place to visit
We have just returned from our first visit to Otmuchow to visit the craft market and festival. Beautiful place to visit very clean and if you like crafts well worth the visit. We was lucky as our friend speaks Polish but it was easy to communicate and the locals was very friendly, music is from 10:00 till midnight and very child friendly.

An interesting place to stay
I really enjoyed our stay here, but the hotel is not without its faults.
It was like being invited to the Big Hoose (as we say in Scotland) and finding the place, however grand, is a bit shabby and threadbare. Your host knows this, but ignores the fact and makes every effort to ensure that you have a good time.
From the reports and pictures submitted by other reviewers, I suspect that we ended up in one of the hotel's smaller, cheaper rooms.
Dinner in the hotel's restaurant was good, if nothing fancy. Breakfast was very good and served in a charming room.
Wifi coverage is reasonable in the restaurant and on the terrace, but there was none in our room.
I would recommend a visit, but be prepared to overlook this and that.
