A grand experience at The Grand!

We are sadly nearing the end of a week's stay in Sofitel Grand Hotel and it has been a real tonic. Firstly, the location is perfect overlooking the Baltic Sea, and the hotel offers its own private beach. Furthermore the location is central to all of Sopot's attractions, not least the amazingly long wooden pier, from which we took a charming boat tour of the bay.The hotel building, approaching its centenary year, has amazing architecture and a rich and varied history. Both are brought to life magnificently on the hotel tour led by the Senior Concierge, Lukasz. The tour is well worth requesting. Overall the staff are warm, friendly and utterly professional, from the lady sommelier/manager in the hotel restaurant, where the food was very good, though pricey. The housekeeper who maintains the beautiful floral displays on the tiny balconies, deserves praise as do the young men/chambermaids who greet you on each passing. Finally, the front desk has great staff not least the lovely Karolina, who was very charming and helpful. Thank you all.

In general a good hotel at a very good location. We had a junior suite with what was supposed to be garden view, but the view was to the backyard where they started to empty trash and broken glass early morning so a lot of noice

Worst Sofitel arrival experience during 10 consecutive as All Platinum Member

I just arrived at the Sofitel Grand Sopot and looked forward returning to the hotel where I stayed 20 years ago. Upon arrival none of my simple requests like a quiet room on a high floor away from the elevator that every other Accor group hotel has granted and more was ot honoured. Furthermore at 1 :15 pm the room I booked wasn't even ready and I have to wait in the lobby for another 2 hours. Ididn't expect this from a 5-star Sofitel - any 5-star hotel for that matter. I am an ALL Platinum member for 10 consecutive years and reach out to the hotel prior to my arrival. I received an email that they will do their best to recognize my loyalty. Well anything but that and while I am waiting the staff didn't even offer a glass of water. Total waste of my time!

Grande Damme of Sopot in need for renovation

Pros : Oceanfront historical hotel ,nice staff.
Cons ; Aging room interiors and reception. Reception does not answer e mails.
Gym and pool in need for renovation.
