Incredibly disappointing for such a great location!
They go in advance so that if something goes wrong, they can drop you with zero service.

Between Light and Shadow
We recently spent a few days at the newly opened Shellter & Spa, which has been welcoming guests since January 2025. The first impression was impressive: a modern, imposing hotel complex with 226 rooms, nestled in a dreamlike dune landscape – and just a minute’s walk from the Baltic Sea beach. The location is undoubtedly a real highlight.
Architecturally successful, stylishly furnished
The house convinces at first glance: everything is new, high-quality and stylishly designed. Our room in the 3. Floor with side sea view was very clean, modern equipped and lovingly prepared – even for our little dog. We were very pleased with this attention and will be remembered fondly.
Service: Light-years from 5-star level
As promising as the start was, the enthusiasm was quickly tarnished. Already at check-in a serious problem was revealed: The receptionist was overwhelmed, barely spoke German or English, and the entire process dragged on unnecessarily. In a house with a five-star claim, this is simply not acceptable.
Half board – disappointing and chaotic
The biggest weak point of our stay, however, was the half board. The buffet restaurant seemed crowded, loud and hectic – no sign of a cosy holiday atmosphere. The Service was uncoordinated, the staff visibly overwhelmed. Many foods were empty and were only hesitant or not at all refilled. So it happened that some guests had to eat their hot food cold. The overall selection was disappointing.
A particularly uncomfortable moment: While we were picking up our dessert from the buffet, our still half-full drinks were cleared without comment – a small but annoying faux pas that is symptomatic of the overall weak Service.
Tip: prefer an à la carte restaurant
If you value good food, we currently advise you to switch to the à la carte restaurant in the house – this made a much better impression on other guests and ourselves.
Breakfast: Air upwards
Breakfast was also below our expectations. Many products seemed simple in quality – a pity in particular: there was no fresh yogurt or Bircher cereal in bowls, only prepackaged supermarket goods. For a hotel of this category, a clear minus.
Conclusion: a lot of potential, but too many construction sites
The Shellter & Spa undoubtedly has great potential. The location is fantastic, the design modern and thoughtful, the rooms high quality. But in the Service and in the catering industry, there is currently a lack of professionalism and organisation. Those who decorate themselves with five stars must also offer the appropriate standard – unfortunately, this is not currently the case.
We hope that our criticism will be seen as an impetus for improvement. Perhaps one day we will return – hoping that the Shellter will then keep what it already promises architecturally.
Sincerely,
Family toiletry bags

Naprawdę słabo, Shelter. Bardzo słabo.
Beach bar to totalny chaos.

Wspaniały pobyt w pięknym i nowoczesnym miejscu!
