Wonderful Albufeira Vacation Home

Absolutely fabulous location, close to Albufeira and the various beaches of Olhos de agua. Ana was a great host and very responsive to all of our requests and inquiries. We would be very happy to return and recommend this spot highly and without reservation of you are heading to Albufeira!

Do your research before booking here .. I wish I had …

I wish I had read the latest review on Tripadvisor before booking .. this is such a tired resort .. and unfortunately the villas are too … and a hike from anywhere .. up and down hills and in the dark walking through wasteland .. it all needs a lot of TLC .. and I feel the photos on VillaPlus were misleading .. it does not reflect the run down nature of the area nor the tired furnishings in the villa … t
It is a shame as it could be really nice.
The plus side - the pool is heated and a decent size and well maintained. Towels are new. And the kitchen appliances also look new . The villa is clean. It is a very quiet resort (probably because half of it is empty!).

Very Tired resort in need of an update

We chose this area and a Villa from Villa Plus from the photos and the description looked perfect.
On arrival the area has been let go with a very apparent lack of care and maintenance.
The shop bar and pool complex is closed Tennis Courts in dilapedated state.
The once white pristine Villas are now needing re painting.
Lucky there is shops and bars only a 15 min walk away and with Uber and Bolt cabs are easy and affordable.
If you plan to stay ensure your prepared with a car or use the very reliable cab service, without Bolt and Uber you will be isolated.

Stunning Villa/ exceptional service/ perfect location/ services spot on

We are just back from another fantastic week at this Villa- 8 of us have said this is the best villa we have ever stayed in ( we’ve done a few ) fantastic heated pool and hot tub. Home from home amenities, luxury bedrooms bathrooms, kitchen to die for, bbq pizza oven outside kitchen awesome. Spotless grounds, pool and hot tub cleaned 3 times in the week too. Handy pool towels supplied, washing machine so you can travel light, stunning view and nothing too much trouble for staff- Thankyou Helen for arranging my partners birthday cake ( again ) we will absolutely be booking to come back for the 4th time

A very tired, neglected and unloved resort.

This large resort sells itself as having all sorts of recreational facilities for use of guests.
As both my wife and I have walking difficulties this appeared to be an ideal holiday resort for us, as we were led to believe that there were two pools solely for guests’ use, both with pool bars serving hot food, a clubhouse and a mini market.
As the site is entered through the arched entrance there is a large sign with directions pointing out all these amenities.
On the day following our arrival we went for a walk looking for something to eat and drink for our lunch.
To cut a long story short, we found the amenities, but they were all completely shut up with the exception of the two swimming pools that were in use.
The mini market is a grotty little store sat in a hole in the ground with a few tables and chairs in a small adjacent area. We asked the assistant about the whereabouts of all the promised facilities only to be told that they had been closed for some time now and not likely to reopen in the near future.
Even the reception was closed every time we went past but a sign on the door gave opening hours, so we were unsure whether this is operational or not.
The whole resort generally is very rundown with tree roots growing up through the road surface in places and a general unkempt appearance.
New villas are currently under construction which seems strange considering the general rundown nature of the complex.
We were told that the original owner sold up and it would appear that whoever owns it now just isn’t interested.
Even the local restaurants close to the resort that presumably relied on residents of the resort for their business have now closed up and moved elsewhere.
Regular security patrols are promised but we saw no sign of them during our 2 week stay,
This critique in no way reflects the individual villas, some of which are very good.
