Not to be missed. Stay in a medieval village

We stayed at Sunset house in the medieval village of Monsanto, Portugal for two nights. It was so beautiful to be able to decompress, watch the sunset and sunrise from our patio and hike the many stairs and paths up to the castle and throughout the village. Such a cute one bedroom home that is built around boulders . Eloiiza doesn’t speak much English so most communication was with her husband Fernando who has a witty sense of humour, which my husband got a kick out of lol.. They are both wonderful, kind and anything you need during your stay they are they to help within minutes. There are no vehicles allowed in the village and lots of walking and uphill ( which we love) . Eloiza will arrange a pick up spot with you and take your bags. The views and location are breath taking . We will definitely be back . Thank you both for such a lovely memorable stay

Parfait !

Je recommande à 100% !!!
Nous avons passés 3 nuits là-bas : CALME, literie de qualité, spacieux, propre, fonctionnel… Vraiment le top du top !
La maison est située dans les hauteurs de Arco de Calheta et il n’y a aucun vis-à-vis. La vue au réveil est incroyable. Il y a des petites tables sur la terrasse.
Les propriétaires sont géniaux, très accueillants, souriants, serviables et réactifs, toujours prêts à vous aider (bus, conseils, visites…)
Ils sont venus nous récupérer à l’aéroport pour 50€ (les taxis coûtent 70€ minimum) et nous ont donné de l’eau et des fruits a notre arrivée.
Le seul point « négatif », pour nous qui n’avons pas loué de voiture/scooter, est l’emplacement qui est un peu loin de la ville. Mais un arrêt de bus se trouve à 10min à pied pour partir vers Funchal donc rien de dérangeant.
Je recommande donc cet établissement, niveau rapport qualité-prix vous ne trouverez pas mieux je pense
