Quinta das Vinhas is made of a 17th century house, 2 outdoor pools and small houses spread through the property, filled with vineyards. It is located in Calheta, Madeira Island.

The room was nice and spacious. We had a cobbled floor in the room which was hard to walk on and felt less hygienic. The pools are quite small. The bathroom jacked an extractor fan do the walls were very wet after using the shower. The bathroom floor was not well drained so remained wet until after the dealers had been. Tea and coffee making facilities were inadequate. We were not shown the communal rooms on arrival (lounge areas) and did not discover these till later in our stay. There are very few facilities close to the hotel. There are steep elites and steps on the site so not suitable fit people with mobility issues. We felt like we were tolerated as an add on to the vineyard rather than valued guests

Didn't live up to our expectations
Location and photos looked very inviting when we were booking this property. Although the location in the vineyard was picturesque, the accommodation itself - we stayed in Casa Rosa - had a few drawbacks.
The main issue was the bathroom: cold, with no heating or ventilation. As a result, the towels were constantly damp, the small mirror steamed up and the floor wet.
Noise level in the bedroom was bad: a nearby bar playing loud music in the evening, a very persistent rooster at random times of the day (and night), the church bell and the road behind.
For those of us with electronic devices it would have been useful to have extra sockets by the bedside tables.
The ceiling lights need better shades to avoid glare.
The property would also benefit from a mirror in the bedroom (or anywhere else apart from the bathroom).
Breakfast was disappointing. There were only two cooked items (fried eggs and bacon), self-service and mediocre choice of food. 18 euros per person.
On the positive side, service was OK.

We are sad to hear that your experience with us was not what you expected. Casa Rosa is situated on the north part of the property and has one of the best views in the area. We do housekeeping everyday and if you wish to change your towels everyday it is possible so that you do not have to have damp towels. We are on the country side were it is peaceful and calm so it is understandable that we can hear a rooster now and then or the Church bell and the guests usually understand this. Regarding the Bar playing loud music is very seldom but we understand that it is a bother and have spoken to him regarding the noise pollution. We will certainly look into your suggestions and make the adjustments where we need to improve.

Historic vineyard home that is now a hotel. Very clean, great shower and a really nice breakfast taken outside looking out to the sea in the distance.

Beautiful stay over looking a vineyard and Atlantic Ocean
Perfect location quiet with great views over the Atlantic Ocean and vineyards.
We stayed in the main house room 101 for 1 week. Due to its location YOU Need a hire car if you trust your driving on very hilly winding roads.
But for great scenery and not having to worry about driving and parking We used the bus service 142 to Funchal and back a 2 hour + one way ,which gives a better chance to see the real Maderia for under 3 Euros, Buses are every 4 hours .
The bus 80 goes to Porta Moniz just over an hour away well worth going to for swimming in the natural pools.
To do all this the bus stop is a 15 minutes walk away up hill ok after a day out excursion it's all down hill back to the vineyard, PLEASE BARE THAT IN MIND IF MOBILITY IS AN ISSUE.
Best thing too is a stop at the little shop /bar opposite the Bago restaurant and vineyard entrance for a beer or coffee , the shop sells everything!!
