Charming hotel of yesteryear

Belle epoque hotel in the lower town. We booked a romantic room in the corner tower of the hotel. This offers a very nice view of both the city and the water. The room itself is basic but fine. The same goes for breakfast. No fresh juices or quality products but enough to start your day well. If you like traditional classic style with not too much luxury then this is definitely recommended. Friendly staff, friendly staff.

What a fabulous place

Where do we start. This was a fabulous hotel. Everything we expected and hoped for. Sonia looked after us from the moment we arrived and we could not have wished for a better host. If you want a modern hotel with square rooms and satellite TV, this is not the place for you. Keeping the style of its initial build 100 years ago makes this place very special from the opulence of the residents lounge, the ship like dining room and the rooms which are old but well cared for. We were fortunate to have a room facing the river with large balcony doors and air conditioning. The breakfast was exceptional. We dropped one star on the amenities only because it would have been nice to have a bar. To be fair there is an honesty bar but its not the same. Deserves all 5 stars overall and we are already looking at dates to return.

Decoration

Very central, beautiful, cosy, spacious rooms with the necessary amenities, clean,polite and helpful staff. I like it because I appreciate the old one.

Back to the 1920s

The location of the hotel is extraordinary. The beds are very comfortable, but the decor is quite old-fashioned. They describe it as "romantic decadence," "a trip to the past".... But the reality is that it needs a proper renovation. The elevator is very interesting and photogenic. There is a long-term parking lot that is very economical in front of the
hotel, free on weekends. Varied and satisfactory breakfast.
