Great base for your stay on Faial – loved the views!

Great place to stay in Horta, just a few minute’s drive or 10 minutes’ walk to the town center, and great views across the bay to the Monte. Access to the building and room was through door codes, so easy check-in. Our room had a nice sea/mountain view, plenty of windows, was clean and comfortable. Next to our room was the very nice communal kitchen for preparing and eating meals – really a great asset. The AC worked well, as did the Wifi internet. We really enjoyed are stay here and would definitely stay here again.

No recommendation and the pictures promise more than that!

The center of Faial is within walking distance, so the perfect location. Parking on the street always ample and quiet despite cobblestones. The room, booked I had the Ermida da Guia with balcony, left something to be desired. On the floor a lot of animals and I hope not to have dragged any to the next hotel or even worse, home. You can't do that! The balcony is a French one, so just a step in depth and consequently not really usable. Windows could not be locked securely, so for safety reasons I always left the shutters down when I was absent. Although there is ventilation in the bathroom, this is too weak for the room size, so I had to ventilate over the room to be able to use this. Generally the bathroom very narrow and only limited storage space. Also too much washing powder, or is it fabric softener used, since it has an unpleasant smell. Other guests sometimes very loud and the communal kitchen emits unpleasant smells.
No recommendation and the pictures promise more than that. In addition, the communication was extremely annoying, as the owner's or manager's emails were written exclusively in Portuguese. English would have been appropriate, as I did not communicate in my native language either. And I didn't fill out the personal data sheet for privacy reasons, as other accommodations didn't need this information and furthermore there was no reference to the EU General Data Protection Regulation (also applies in Portugal).

Fantastic location. Good price-quality ratio

Perfect to use in addition to your room, a living room with terrace and kitchen with refrigerator. And employee Lanita, like sunshine in the house, gives an extra holiday atmosphere to your stay. If you want to avoid the hustle and bustle, you are within walking distance of the center of Horta.
