Well-deserved 5 Stars

For us, this is a rare review, written for justice. Hotel Flamingo has been year after year a way to stay in Lisboa as central as central gets, simple, honest, easy in out, safe, all with prompt service. The down to earth, family-run feeling makes this a rare gem for us that well-deserves our five stars from long experience.

Decent hotel with a good location

This hotel has a good location in less than 10 minutes of walking to the subway station and about 20 minutes of walking to the old town. My room was clean with perfectly working air-conditioning and comfortable bed, but way too small. I originally booked it for two people but in the end I was glad my friend decided to stay in another hotel with the group he arrived with. The bed was in no way big enough for two adult people. Also luckily I arrived with almost no luggage because there was no space to store anything bigger than cabin luggage.
I appreciated friendly and helpful staff. If there were little problems, there were solved almost immediately with no discussion.
All over I can recommend this hotel.

Bed Chip!!

TO AVOID!
Good location but old room and bathroom that smells of moisture.
Worse, there are bed chips in my room.
But despite the friendly staff, the manager did not respond to my request regarding this serious lack of hygiene.

Not very good experience

The hotel is very well located almost in the square of Marquis de Pombal. I went to my sister. We asked for a room with two beds and the first day we were put in a room that overlooked a patio. The air conditioner didn't cool down and a drop of air didn't enter that courtyard. The room very decadent. We complained and the next day we were changed to another with two beds and exterior. The room was clean. It is quite an old hotel and the facilities leave much to be desired. Evening lights throughout the hotel, including the room. The staff, most of them very friendly. Awful breakfast. Free buffet with little variety and every day the same and not with very good looks.
If someone in my family asked me, I wouldn't recommend the Flamingo hotel

Good location. Breakfast is so so.
The room is a bit old but sufficient for everything.
Staff are helpful and polite. Laundry services seems not available and the nearest laundry store is of 10+mins walking distance.
