A fantastic hotel!

I want to thank the entire team at Iberostar Selection Lisbon for the excellent hospitality and for making me feel at home during my entire stay.
A special thanks to Inês, Elton, Ricardo and the entire reception team for the sympathy, professionalism and attention at all times. To Tiago, from the restaurant, thank you very much for the sympathy and excellent service. Also a huge thanks to Álvaro, director of the hotel, for all the care and dedication throughout my stay.
It was a memorable experience.

Not a 5 Star Hotel

Although the check in experience was pretty seamless and the dinner / breakfast staff were pretty friendly, I was very disappointed in our experience. The cleanliness was way below standard for a 5 star hotel. Our room was FILTHY. The rugs under our bed were completely dirty. The rugs looked like they have never been cleaned. The walls of the hallways are dirty and the hallways to the rooms have an unpleasant odor. Does the spa have employees? My husband visited twice during business hours and no one was there either time. I was unimpressed with your front desk employee last night. I called down to the front desk several times along with calling the hotel on my cellphone. When the employee finally answered, he just left the phone off the hook as I said hello 20 times. I became frustrated and hung up. I took the elevator to the front desk level. I then proceeded to the front desk and waited while the employee checked in someone else for 10 minutes. When it was finally my turn, the employee recognized that I was the one calling and said “he was sorry but he was with a client.” Am I not a “client” too?! He couldn’t have asked me to please hold when I called? Finally, when I went to check out this morning, the front desk was trying to charge me breakfast for 3 days when we only ate there twice. Extremely frustrating experience to say the least and the cleanliness definitely not worth 5 stars.

A good hotel, nut not quite 5-stars

This is a nice hotel, but not quite 5-star, as advertised.
The highlight is its great buffet breakfast, one of the best that I've seen. The breakfast crew was also extremely nice and helpful.
The rest of the hotel crew were nice, but pretty nonchalant about issues (i.e., when the elevator stopped working, when we asked if our room was set up during check-in, etc.). Housekeeping would miss our requests (e.g., extra towel), almost every day.
The room that we were in (Jr suite) was renovated, but I'm not sure how/why a family room was renovated in a way that the shower was full glass (and without a door, allowing water to get out), and the bathroom's glass wall was only half sanded (and with no fan). So that was pretty weird.
Location is close to the metro and probably a 30-40 minute walk to downtown.

An exceptional stay..incredible breakfast and outstanding service

We spent eight nights at the Iberostar Selection Lisboa this July, and it was one of the highlights of our time in Portugal. The location is ideal...right on Rua Castilho, moments from Avenida da Liberdade and the Marquês de Pombal, with the whole city within easy reach and still the hotel feels like a calm retreat the moment you step inside.
The pool area is genuinely beautiful: a stylish, spotless deck with plenty of loungers, shade when you want it, and gorgeous blue water that was perfect after a warm day of exploring. We looked forward to it every single afternoon. Our room was immaculate, quiet, and comfortable with a lovely pool view.
And the breakfast was incredible. Every morning brought a generous, beautifully presented spread: fresh pastries and fruit, made-to-order eggs, quality coffee, local specialties, and so much more. It was a genuine highlight of each day and set us up perfectly for exploring the city. The dining staff kept everything immaculate and welcoming, always with a smile. The service throughout was simply outstanding.. warm, professional, and attentive at every turn.
Above all, Luisa was extraordinary. When we needed help sorting out some billing paperwork after checkout, she was extremely responsive..replying quickly, courteously, and with genuine care until everything was fully resolved. Her professionalism and warmth embodied exactly what a five-star experience should be, and that level of attentiveness, well after we'd already checked out, tells you everything about how this hotel treats its guests. Luisa and the entire team are a real credit to the Iberostar name. We can't recommend the Iberostar Selection Lisboa highly enough, and we'll absolutely be back. Thank you, Luisa, and the whole team!

A very good hotel, but closer to a 4-star than a 5-star in our opinion.

We had a good stay at this hotel, which has solid assets but also some shortcomings for its category.
The positives:
The location: Very convenient, a stone's throw from Marquês de Pombal and the metro, which greatly facilitates getting around Lisbon.
Valet parking: A huge plus! It is so appreciated not having to worry about parking the car.
The staff: Very welcoming and friendly throughout our stay.
Breakfast: A complete, varied, and high-quality buffet.
The room: Spacious, which is very appreciated.
Spa access: One hour of free access to the hotel spa is included automatically, which is a really nice little extra.
The negatives:
Room comfort: The bedding was average (bed too soft for our taste) and we noticed stains on the room's carpet. Furthermore, no individual toiletry kit or set is provided, only soap dispensers. For a 5-star hotel, it is a bit disappointing.
Pool area: The outdoor pool is rather small and suffers from very restricted hours (pool closes at 6:00 PM and the bar at 5:00 PM). Furthermore, poor management meant that there were no towels available on the first day, which should not happen in an establishment of this standing (note that the person in charge of the pool did not even try to help us or find a solution for us ‍♀️).
In summary: It is a good hotel where one would gladly stay, but the overall services lack a bit of the rigor and details expected of a true 5-star hotel. In our opinion, it corresponds more to a very good 4-star hotel.
