A unique stay

This was one of the highlights of our trip. If you travel to learn about other cultures this is the place for you. It's actually very large family home filled with antiques that have been collected over generations. Jose, the son and the "primary" host. But mom and pop are also there working hard to make your stay comfortable and memorable. An amazing home cooked breakfast every morning along with much information about the house and the area. Honestly, the house left me speechless. I am surprised that not that much is written about it. It's a gem and an experience that is hard to come by. Most likely you will be the only ones staying there. This is NOT a hotel. It's someone's home.

Relaxing, spacious, friendly, home...

What a treat to arrive here. Fabulous welcome, with lots of great tips of where to bike for the day! A room that was huge. Super comfy bed with embroidered bedsheets and warm blankets. Everything worked better than well. The home is well taken care of and that experience is extended to the people who stay there. it is like being welcomed into the family - homemade treats at breakfast. The cherry jam was beyond anything I've ever tasted! Very friendly and a delightful place to stay - our only regret is that we were only there for 2 nights.
This is not a hotel, it is a superior home to stay with incredibly friendly and informative hosts.

Magnífica casa y exquisita atención

Solo el alojarte en esta magnífica casa hace que valga la pena visitar Portalegre. Es una casa señorial atendida por uno de los dueños que hace que disfrutes cada uno de sus rincones, mobiliario y enseres.
Fue un gran placer alojarnos en esta casa, el dueño con su exquisita educación siempre estuvo pendiente de nosotros. Cabe destacar el desayunar en ese magnífico salón degustando productos de la zona y dulces conventuales elaborados por la dueña de la casa.
Esta casa nos quedará como referencia para volver algún otro día.

Uma estadia que se pretende prolongar

O edifício é um solar com ambiente familiar e histórias dos antepassados, presentes na decoração, mobiliário e objetos.
O serviço é dedicado, o pequeno-almoço é caseiro com produtos locais e servido na sala de jantar que nos faz viajar no tempo.
Quarto confortável, com mobiliário da casa, sem transformações, além de ar condicionado e casa de banho.
Vale a pena uma estadia mais prolongada para conhecer melhor a história da casa com os proprietários.
Localização conveniente.

Melhor é impossível

É como regressar a casa dos avós.
A simpatia e a humanidade num trato informal como se estivéssemos em família.
Casa de família muito acolhedora.
No centro da cidade, que se pode visitar a pé.
Fantástico.
