The restaurant is decent, although paying for breakfast as much as for dinner would make many raise eyebrows.

Nord Hotel, Borșa Maramureș

A very nice surprise:)
The atmosphere was nice and the staff was friendly

Highly recommend the hotel, not the restaurant.
· All the food we ordered was completely unsalted , zero ! When we asked why , we were told they use ,, v . v little salt “ and let the customers decide how much salt to use !The burger I ordered was overloaded with A LOT of runny sauce , the bun was going one way , the patty the other way . It was impossible to hold it together ! What a mess .I ordered pasta with clams , it was bland / tasteless and lots of liquid at the bottom .The bean soup was completely tasteless , tasted as a diluted soup .
The servers took the order & brought the food . Not a smile , not a ,, how are you , is everything ok …”Never asked if we need anything else , etc… This attitude was towards all customers . At first we thought this is how they do it , that they do not know any better ,but on our last day at breakfast next table to us was the city mayor with friends ! What a difference in our server’s attitude ! She was all smile and asking if everything is ok , coming again & again asking if anything else is needed despite being told they are all set . She had good customer service for select customers .Somebody needs to tell the servers all customers should be treated ,, as the mayor “. I guess we and the others were not worthy of her smile or attention.
We travel a lot all over the world and this is the first time ever a hotel charges for the use of the swimming pool !
