Great

I totally recommend this place. Good location, very clean (I believe that it was quite recently renewed). Don't get fooled by the entrance which is not yet ready and doesn't look that nice.
We were lucky and got a parking spot right near the entrance for which we payed by sending an SMS.
Great place

Mold and humidity, don't recommend

We had an unpleasant stay in a cellar full of mold. It was an apartment that does not appear on the booking and which I discussed with the owner on the phone. But I didn't know it was in the basement. From the moment we entered we smelled a bad smell, but the owner reassured us that it was recently renovated and it smells like lava. I later noticed a large dehumidifier, I probably know there are problems with moisture. Even the towels in the bathroom made mold stains in 2 days while I was there, you could see mold everywhere in the bathroom, there was no ventilation. The bedroom had no windows, you could feel yourself suffocating. And the living room windows were small and quite high.
It was cold, the heat was unbearable, the floor was extremely cold, being in a cellar. The hair dryer didn't work, we dried on the radiator.
There was no place to drain the washed glasses.
The parquet floor was also swollen from place to place.
Later I read another review from September about the problem with smell and humidity, so the owner probably tells everyone that it has recently been renovated.

Not a fair place

I booked two rooms at this location in September. The owner was very kind in conversation. The problem was that one of the rooms was located in the basement and there was a lot of humidity, a smell specific to the cellars and a large dehumidifier was struggling (without effect) to improve the atmosphere. We had to refuse accommodation (although the second room was acceptable) which infuriated the owner, who changed his attitude and tone.

Very nice room

I enjoyed my stay. However l did have a few issues. On arrival l discovered there is no reception. It is a self check in accommodation. Yes totally my fault as l didn’t read the fine print. However as a solo traveller l do prefer to have at least someone to speak to, ask for information, maps etc and say hello to, so it was a pretty lonely place to stay if you are on your own. I didn’t see anyone my entire time. The rooms are above a pre school in a residential block. You need a code to get in the main door. Then a code to retrieve your key from a box.
I didn’t have any of these so check in was tricky. Once again my fault for not reading the small print.
I was given the wrong box number and my TV remote didn’t work these issues were sorted via WhatsApp calls from the owner.
The rooms are up 2 flights of stairs.
No elevator.
The rooms are well appointed and clean. My room had obviously had smokers in previously which was unpleasant for me. Close to the centre of the historic town of Sibiu. Very good value for the price.
