Great campsite very well located and a welcome to the top!

Great camp, very well located to discover Casamance. It is not a palace but the room is decent with bathroom and toilet. In addition, we eat very well and the restaurant outside is very nice. But it is especially the warm welcome of Maxime and Elizabeth that is wonderful! We made friends in a few days and we were sad to leave them!! We highly recommend it!

Small clean and air-conditioned camp

Camp located at the exit of Oussouye towards Cap Skirring. Very welcome, Pierre will give you all the useful tips to discover the area and the good spots... The icing on the cake, the view of the rice fields is absolutely magnificent...

Cute

A bit of a walk off the main road but super cute!!! Arrived late got shown to our basic room now enjoying a beer and dinner. Got dinner and breakfast included for a bit extra.
Dinner was yummy, veggies, which I do not eat enough in Senegal lol, and skewers with lotte (white fish).
Very happy and recommend. Hopefully tomorrow heading to point Saint George for a hike fingers crossed.

Worth a stop

The place is really nice and the staff very helpful. The rooms are simple but clean and have a bathroom. The food served there is pretty good also. Would recommend this place as there are things to see around there.

You'll be sad to leave....

Some accomodations just have that little extra, that makes them stand out from the others. Le campement Emmanaye (meaning "rice") is just such a place. Situated on the outskirts of Oussuye, which by itself is a very charming place, it has a wonderfull view on the ricefields.
I stayed there in august 2012 and was glad that I did take this campement ("lodge") as a basis for exploring this part of the Casamance in southern Senegal.
Don't expect any luxury, not even wifi (though internet is available in the village). The rooms are very clean, and especially on the second floor of this banco house, will allow any breeze to come in, to cool you as far as possible. The whole place is surrounded by flowering trees and shrubs, making it an excellent place to do a little birdwatching from your chair (the pigmy kingfisher and the blue bellied roller being 'houseguest' so to speak).
What makes this campement special is the staff: the campement is owned and operated by an extended family headed by Elizabeth, with her son Maxim doing the day to day management of the place. The whole familiy works for the campement, living in the adjacent compound, serving the guests in a most pleasant manner, without being present in an annoying or loud way.
I was lucky to have interesting guests staying there at the same time as I was, and I suspect that the place usually attracts a certain type of visitor (which for lack of a better term I label ' grown up backpackers:-)') Together with the excellent senegalese food this makes for pleasant evenings (allthough there other good places to eat in the village).
All in all a very special place!!
