A friendly family owned hotel with good restaurant and nice terrace.

I stayed in Hotel Rozafa when I came to the town to take up a post in an office here. It was booked and recommended by my colleagues. I'd read it was the only hotel in the town but there are several hotels - none in the centre, a couple of which look like they are 'international visitor' standard, and a few are budget or cheap options. In non Corona time when the town is busier I expect there is more accomodation open to suit all budgets and tastes. Rozafa is recommended due to the friendly, professional staff, the family ownerhip, the Google type 'coziness' and the good restaurant which is very popular with families, business people and well known figures in the town.
I had a quite large room but on the top floor up five flights of stairs. The more recently modernised rooms were smaller but a couple of floors lower. As the weather improved the nice outdoor terrace area and landscaped part of the grounds became a nice attraction. The hotel is set back off a main road about a mile (1.5km) from the centre of the town, a fifteen minute walk or less to the main pedestrianised street the most direct way, or 20 minutes if you walk along the main roads. There is plenty of parking. As in many places in the town staff speak multiple languages, including here some of the waiters speak English. The restaurant is good with both typical cuisine for this part of the Balkans, and the usual pizza and pastas, done to a good or reasonable standard. I've returned to eat at the restaurant or have a drink several times since staying. The restaurant on several nights of the week is busy with family parties and celebrations with guests dressed very smartly, though it also feels like a relaxed place that a solo diner can have an informal meal.

You want to try the mighty of Balkan meat plates? This is the place.

This place may be mostly listed in trip advisor for its hotel properties but it's in fact best known for its amazing food. It is ritual in my family that at least twice a year we drive an hour each place to have their fabulous meat mix platter (3 different types of meat), the delicious homemade bread and absolutely authentic sides of which my favorite are the pickled vegetables (also known as turshia). This is a family owned business, most of food is grown in the garden in one of the corners of the property and the level of commitment by it's staff hard to match. Whether just passing by or a dedicated foodie, you should plan a stop at this place.

Väldigt smutsigt rum. Inte städat och mögel i badrummet. Överlag ett väldigt ofräscht hotell
