Everything I was looking for in my stay!

It was a super nice stay! Very comfortable and it felt like a second home. If I visit Singapore again I would definitely stay here again.

Well located good sized rooms

Great location and lovely aesthetic. Well located for cafes in Everton and an easy walk to Chinatown & Toong Bahru.
Bathrooms are very small and hard beds. We had a large room with kitchenette - the sink leaked and there was no hot water in the kitchenette.

Good Value, Decent Enough Stay

My stay at the Hmlet Cantonment was pretty good, but not outstanding.
The Good:
The location is really great! Walking distance from Chinatown, 100AM, and Maxwell Food station. Really just a fantastic location for a Singapore visit!
The room itself was not bad, it was large enough and the TV is good.
The price is fantastic for what you get honestly!
The procised laundromat is decently priced at $5SG per wash/dry is good.
The curtains covered the entire window which is great for privacy when changing or just wanting some alone time from the world.
The shower itself is super comfortable. Im quite tall and the shower head was quite tall, so unless you're over 200CM you shouldn't have to be bending down at all! Very nice.
The Okay:
The beds are not very comfortable. The mattress feels a bit cheap and was noisy, and the single pillow that is provided was rather flat and small.
The AC struggled to keep the room cool, which made sleeping a bit uncomfortable. Maybe I didn't fiddle with it correctly, but i had to constantly turn it back on to provide some air movement.
The bathroom design is... a choice. The entire bathroom is a shower pan, so whenever you take a shower expect it to grt thr whole bathroom wet. Its not too big a deal, but considering the very limited counter space you may be tempted to put your clean or dirty clothes on the floor. Just be warned that they will likely get very wet.
Counter space throughout is limited, but there is plenty of floor space for bags.
Room service is strictly every 3 days. Not a huge deal, and I honestly feel its more than enough, however you cant get clean bath towels outside of this period, so make sure you don't get them dirty...
The Bad:
This hotel at the time of my visit had a strict towel policy, one towel per guest. Just one. I had to ask a few times for an extra pool towel just to dry my hair. If you choose to stay here, I highly reccomend bringing your own towel if you like to have more than one.
With the towels - many of the clean ones I got had suspicious brown stains on them... not sure what they were.
The bathroom fan is quite annoyingly loud.
The provide hairdryer is great - except there is no outlet for it in the bathroom, or at least that I could find. You will have to use it just outside the bathroom as the chord isn't long enough to reach into the bathroom.
The bathroom door is the single most annoying thing about ny stay. It is a very strange folding door that was annoying to use and banged around frequently. At night you can hear other guests accidently slamming the door as it swings quite hard into the walls.
My bed frame was very squeaky.
Overall, I had a decent stay. The goods outweighed the bags, but they still annoyed me. I would consider staying here again if I brought an extra pillow and towel.

Underrated gem

Our check-in experience was initially good with the reception but there was a debacle with our room being used to clean the aircon filters on the whole floor by the maintenance staff when we checked in which I had to complain to reception for. They were extremely helpful and stopped it immediately and got the cleaners to reclean the room again although we only actually got into our room 40 minutes past our check-in time of 3PM and is the only thing preventing me from awarding 5 stars.
The amenities of the whole hotel was great. We had a kitchen in our room but we were free to use the communal kitchen which provided free coffees and filtered water. We paid extra for washing machine and dryer in our room and all in all paid $1.9k for 2 weeks which was great value for what we received.
The atmosphere at reception was definitely unexpected, it was not bad at all and in fact reminded me a lot of a start-up tech company because of how friendly they were with computers and had space for people to do their work.
It wasn’t noisy at all and there was definitely a lot of privacy in the rooms. We could not hear anything in the other rooms at all.
The nearest MRT station was Outram Park but there is a bus stop near to the railway tracks that takes you straight to VivoCity which was fantastic. Location-wise, many buses dropped us within a 10 minute walk back to the hotel from the Orchard Road and more.
We will be coming back here our next stay :)

Worth the buck!

We had a wonderful and comfortable stay here from June 28 - July 4. The location (including accessibility to all major tourist places), amenities, cleanliness, and peace despite of being wihtin the city area are remarkable. Community kitchen helped us making new friends, which was a distinctive experince. Worth the money. Special thanks to Jonathan for his customer friendly attitude.
