Great City Terrible Apartment

On arrival at our appartment we were disappointed to say the least. It was nothing like any of the pictures on the web site extremely dirty,falling apart and in need of some TLC, frankly i dont think anyone has controlled it for a while. The floors, kitchen units microve and pans were greasy. I found food in the microwave and pans unclean and no useable knives a broken coffee pot and venetian blinds in the bedroom all at angles and tangled unable to move. One blind in the kitchen came away from the ceiling when i tried to move it. The location at one of the busiest junctions on the city meant windows have to be kept closed due to noise and car fumes and so the requested balcony for dinners was unusable noisy and covered with a grey dust. How they thought it could be used to eat on I dont know. Carpets black at the edges and with cigarette burns.
On mentioning our disappointment and the apartments state to the onsite management company we were told nothing could be done there were no other apartments available there was no offer of additional cleaning to help the situation. Subsequently i asked if i could have a mop or hoover or brush to clean. I was shown a dirty brush on the terrace and given a dirty mop.
I was very suprised that a company like TPF Hospitality which ran this property and has many other luxury properties on their books in Cape Town made no effort to improve the siutation.
Subsequently the smart TV broke after 2 days and no new one was provided during the remainder of our stay. Luckily we can go out and experience the beauty of Capetown and surrounding area which we did to avoid being in the property.
I am sure other potential clients will find my comments and pictures useful for their vacation. Suffice to this apartment does not represent value for money and if i was able we wouldnt have remained there. We had to make the most of it. I would suggest avoiding this area as it is very noisy and dirty.
I sorted the blinds cleaned the floors as best able and bought a caffetiere for breakfast.
Mid stay the apartment was given a basic clean but as mentioned above it needed a major clean and some TLC.

WORST SRAY IN CAPETOWN! DO NOT BOOK

Booked via daddy's deals at a discount, picked up the key from the sugar hotel.
Shower has no doors but rather a shower curtain tied in. Known to management
Was told they thought it was fixed a lie! A bald face lie. Clearly has been this way for a long time
Nothing 4 star here rather use airbnb
They really don't care as long as they got your money
Don't buy the deal on daddy's deal do t even book this place
No one took us up to the room
Only 1 spoon in the apartment had to ask for spoons
No dishwashing soap, sponge to wash dishes
DStv decoder in SD format
Not a smart tv
Pool not as advertised
Gym equipment not connected and old, rusted and broken
Manager did not do a thing
No communication had to keep calling
Blinds not functioning properly
Pot has marks inside
Couch looks like it's been in the apartment for 10 years
No salt, butter, liquid soap (during a pandemic),

Beware!!

I booked a room, paid 50% immediately (I was not advised that this would happen). I then cancelled through booking.com and was advised I would get a full refund. This has not happened - and now Harbouredge Apartments has disappeared - but Harbouredge Suites has reappeared at the same address. Extremely fishy!

Pathetic Service

I did a booking last year for the December 2020 vacation in October 2020 and cancelled in October 2020 due to Covid concerns. At thsi time, the hotel had already charged my card with 50% of the accommodation fee although it says you can pay at the hotel on arrival. At first I was very patient understanding the challenges of Covid as they said they would refund by December 2020. I even spoke to a Jamie Lee in accounts that promised to that the refund was scheduled and I woudl receive it shortly. Repeated phone calls and emails have had no success. Each time you call there is no manager on duty and the accounts deprtment does not answer. Nobody i sable to assist. Next step is to take legal action.

Disappointing

Stayed at this apartment from Thursday to Monday.. no cleaning services.. tag didn’t work. No cleaning supplies in the unit. Under equipped with utensils etc.. basics like a grater n frying pan don’t exist. No cleaning services and no detergents to use to clean the unit ourselves, Not even a broom. Light in the shower didn’t work. Overall I would not go back there. The service is pathetic.the bed was so bad in the 2nd bedroom.. I suffered with backache because the springs could be felt. The pillows were not comfortable as well
