Summer Holiday • Family Trip
We recently visited Monkey Valley Resort in Noordhoek for our summer holidays with my wife and our little daughter. Although we only stayed for one night, it was an absolutely fantastic experience. My only regret is that we didn't book a longer stay!
The location is incredible, offering the most wonderful, breathtaking views over the coast and nature. Our room was surprisingly spacious, yet it felt incredibly cozy, rustic, and inviting. Even though we were traveling as a family, I can easily see why this resort is so highly recommended for honeymooners or couples looking for a romantic escape and quiet place to be. Everything was spotless, and the housekeeping team does a great job keeping the rooms very clean.
The hospitality was top-notch from start to finish. The staff were all so nice, welcoming, and always smiling. We also really loved the dining experience—the food was simply great, and we woke up to a very good, hearty breakfast the next morning which was the perfect way to end our short trip.
If you are looking for a beautiful, value for money, peaceful spot in Cape Town with amazing food, a great team, and stunning scenery, this is the place. We really loved it and highly recommend it!

Conference people get preference at the restaurant
Joined a friend for lunch today (25 June) on a lovely sunny and almost windless day, so great to sit outside on the deck and soak in the beautiful weather and view down to Noordhoek beach. We arrived at 12h30 and were quickly able to order our drinks. We spent a little while looking at the menu, but still placed our food order well before 13h00. There were just two other tables occupied by couples. While we waited, a party of 25-30 people arrived and sat down at tables on the far end of the deck. That's when the problem started. Almost the entire contingent of waiters rushed to attend to them, bringing drinks and then plates and plates of food. At about 13h40, when someone we took to be the manager came past, we asked what was happening with our order. His reply was that the big group was at a conference (shorthand for a great jolly at company expense), and that they had pre-booked and pre-ordered their food. The clear inference of this was in effect to tell us that we would bloody well have to wait. He returned about 13h45 to tell us that our two dishes were plated and would be out soon. Well, it still took about another 15 minutes and we were eventually served our orders at exactly 14h00 - well over an hour since ordering!!
To prioritise conference-goers, all of whom you will probably never see again, over local and regular patrons is an affront and simply unacceptable.

Stunning wedding venue with exceptional staff
We recently had our wedding at Monkey Valley, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The venue itself is absolutely breathtaking — from the natural surroundings to the stunning views, it created the perfect atmosphere for our special day.
The staff were exceptional from start to finish. They were not only professional, but also incredibly warm, helpful, and attentive. Every detail was handled with care, and they went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly, which allowed us to fully relax and enjoy the moment.
We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful setting or a more supportive team. Monkey Valley will always hold a special place in our hearts, and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a magical wedding venue.

Horrible Cheese
I went there to enjoy a snack, a glass of wine and the sunset. The sunset did not disappoint. But boy, that Camembert starter was actually horrible. It is a strong word but that is the only word fit for this dish. The "Camembert" - I was not sure if it actually was one - was cut in half horizontally, seemed to have been microwaved to a crisp and swimming in some sort of sauce. No smooth runny insides, only overcooked tasteless crumbly something.
After sending it back I was presented with a new one shortly later. Same story, no different to the first. Either it was microwaved, or the Chef clearly did not know what he was doing or both. But it was a horrible experienced and I sent it back again. Do not get that Camembert, you will be disappointed. And the price is ridiculous for this dish.
The staff was helpful and pleasant.

Fantastic Wedding Venue
We hosted our wedding last weekend with Monkey Valley and it was absolutely magical. Not only is the setting a dream, but Mireille and her team were absolutely fantastic. The food was divine and our guests raved about it. Highly recommend Monkey Valley to anyone looking for as stunning forest wedding!
