Beautiful, Awesome Stay

"I had an absolutely wonderful stay at CU Guest House ! The moment I arrived, I felt so warmly welcomed by the hosts, who were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The room was cozy and spotlessly clean, with a comfortable bed and all the amenities I needed.
The breakfast was delicious, with a great selection of options to suit every taste. The location was perfect, within walking distance to the CBD.
What really made my stay stand out, though, was the exceptional service. The hosts went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed, from recommending local restaurants to helping me plan my itinerary.
I would highly recommend CU Guest House to anyone looking for a comfortable, relaxing, and enjoyable stay. I can't wait to come back and visit again!"

What a magnificent and perfect place to visit!

What a beautiful and peaceful place. I love the lights around the yard at night and the warmth the place has during the winter months is amazing. The food is delicious and the staff is friendly. I will definitely come back and book this place whenever I am in the area.

Not so Boutique

The room was not impressive, bed was not comfortable. The room was very dusty and had cockroaches. Security when contractor is in a room is not great at all. The AC was being fixed in the room I was in and the contractor just opened the door without knocking. Shower water temperature kept changing which was not so great.
The breakfast was great (only silver lining)

Checked in on a Sunday,,, no food or drinks were available after 5pm, which was a bit of an inconvenience, Room was clean and comfortable, Unfortunately my stay was for one night only, so would have liked to have a bit more time to be able to give more valuable feedback,

Chantelle Bay Shower At CU Guest House in Phalaborwa

A baby shower was arranged at CU Guest house on Saturday 29 Jan 2022 Everything was going well until it was time to eat. The two platters had flies trapped in and already had larva in it was discovered by the mum to be. Thereafter he’ll broke loose as we were treated so poorly by the Chef and so called Manager Rachelle She stated that we must remove the pieces where the flies sat and eat the rest . When we requested a refund after lengthy debates she said that she used the money and will give us drumsticks, chips and samoosas. . After a lengthy time she decided to replace the two platter . By this time we were starving especially the mum to be . After two hours we received our meal however this left us totally disappointed. We will definitely not be going here ar will never ever recommend anyone Very poor customer service , chef and poor management will ruin a beautiful place . Hats off to Carol from CU as she tried to rescue the situation however out of her control

Thank you for your review - as you understand there are always two sides to a story and some of your facts, timing etc are not exactly how we recall.
You had been a guest of ours before and everything went smoothly for that event so was looking forward to again welcoming you.
You requested two platters for 10 pax (one with chicken strips, samoosas etc and the other platter the same but with additional pork ribs - we assume the variation was due to religious reasons)
You wanted the platters to be brought out for your function at 15h30. Both platters were covered with cling film. However due to your speeches your guests were only ready to eat at 17h00 and it was at this time after the covers were taken off that a fly was seen sitting on the food of ONE platter. Unfortunately as you do come from Phalaborwa you also know flies are an issue as soon as food is brought out. Perhaps one sneaked in as they are relentless creatures!
We did have a discussion and on the ONE platter that the fly was in we offered to make you a new platter. Should your guests have been that hungry the other platter was still available (for the non religious people)
During this time you were quite verbally abusive for a small incident that we were trying to resolve.
You also barged into the kitchen to make sure we were preparing a new platter (which did take time but no more then an hour) and commented that our kitchen was clean and you were happy.
After receiving you food - again no more then an hour later you indicated that you were happy and had a lovely evening. Even at the end you requested that we GIVE YOU THE FOOD THAT THE FLY WAS SITTING ON to take away ( yes the same platter that you got so angry about and refused to touch). You were clearly upset that we unfortunately said we could not give you said fly infested platter and decided to give us this wonderful review.
