The reception desk was hardly manned and would struggle to get hold of anyone on the phone ( even when I was calling from my room). My bed cover was not clean, it had dirty stains on it including tiny blood stains on top. The room and the bed were lovely and spacious but the shower door wouldn’t close completely and caused a lot of water spillage on the floor. During load shedding, the lights would go off and the hotel staff would take long to switch on the generator ; long enough to cause a panic attack! which was unacceptable as they should follow the load shedding timetable and always be on standby and make sure that the generator kicks in as soon as the lights go off.

My go to hotel

I love everything about Rubystone boutique Hotel, the place is so clean, aesthetically pleasing and the food is amazing.
I call it my go to place cos it’s definitely home for me, home away from home ❤️

Good breakfast, that's about it

Breakfast was nice, that's about it. Rooms weren't that big. Showers was decent, but nasty, mold on the ceiling didn't look that nice. Bedding were dirty, stains on the pillows etc, slept on my own towel. We booked a room with 2 sperate beds, but those weren't there, had to ask and wait for 20minutes before they fixed that. Hotel was very noisy, you could here the staff starting there day at about 6:30.
