We always enjoy staying at Laaiplek Hotel. The service is great, the views are to die for. The whole experience just calms your soul.

Affordable and comfortable accommodation on the Berg River

The Laaiplek hotel is perfectly situated to experience the abundant West Coast birdlife especially the daily flight of hundreds of thousands of Cormorants along the Berg River. Rooms were clean and comfortable but bar and kitchen availability would improve the guest experience.

Good and concerning

My girlfriends and I were very excited to find a place to stay for our last min getaway. The pics were lovely and we were excited about the location, the views and bar on site. The staff were warm, welcoming and helpful.The rooms clean and lovely. The courtyard- sadly seemed forgotten- chairs unkept/ not wiped/ cleaned in a while. No cutlery/ crockery/ microwave in room. Not sure if I missed that part but honestly thought that we could prepare a meal easily from comfort of our rooms. Breakfast lovely, coffee fine, no nets to cover bread, flies a bit busy on Sunday. Carpet in dining room smelly?

don't expect too much here if you're coming from the big city... it's neat, clean and comfortable, not much else
