Disappointing Villa Stay in 1112

This was our 3rd visit to this hotel but previous stays were in the adult only part of the hotel.
We really wanted to stay in a one bedroom villa with a private pool and while villa 1112 itself was lovely, the outside patio area with pool was disappointing. It has a clear glass enclosure but with a pathway running to the side of it, which leads to the Children’s Club and is a short cut to the town of La Caleta. It feels very exposed and people walking along have a clear view of you on sun loungers or in the pool. Opaque glass or planting of foliage to screen the area would make the stay much more enjoyable. We did speak to hotel reception about our disappointment and were offered a room change but as we were only staying a week and had already unpacked, we declined. However, we would recommend that anyone being allocated this room, should check they are happy with its position before accepting the room and unpacking.
The hotel staff are lovely, the breakfast buffet is extensive and the waiters/waitresses/managers are exceptional. Hotel is clean and well maintained.
Sadly, I think this disappointing experience means we will not be booking to stay at this hotel again but luckily there are many other excellent hotels in the vicinity to choose from.

Dear Christine,
Many thanks for your valuable feedback.
We're grateful you highlighted our team's attentive service and dining experiences. Your recognition of our maintenance standards is equally valued by our dedicated staff.
That said, we apologize for the privacy concerns during your villa stay. Please know we always aim to balance accessibility with guest comfort in our layout designs.
Finally, we're heartened that the villa's amenities contributed positively to your holiday experience. Its design prioritizes both luxury and functionality, which we're pleased resonated with you.
We hope to see you again on a future occasion.
Kind regards,

Inconsistent — great in parts, frustrating in others

I’ve visited Tenerife many times, but this was my first stay at this particular hotel.
We arrived early knowing the room wouldn’t be ready, but ended up waiting until after the advertised check-in time regardless. The public areas aren’t air-conditioned, so it gets uncomfortably hot. The hotel layout is also confusing — reception just hands you a map and leaves you to find your own way.
Breakfast was a mixed bag: the buffet itself was great and staff were excellent, especially with allergies, but the cooking station was understaffed, leading to long queues, and coffee orders were inconsistent.
The room itself was lovely, though the open-plan bathroom felt like an odd design choice. Housekeeping, on the other hand, was faultless — the room was cleaned to a high standard every day, right on time. The gym was well-equipped and a great size too.
Other things fell short. I waited 32 minutes at the pool bar before a waiter even offered me a drink. The pool itself wasn’t clean — the water wasn’t clear. And in the evenings there’s no hotel bar, nowhere to sit, and no entertainment at all.
The location is good, with plenty of restaurants nearby in La Caleta, but overall I wouldn’t stay here again - raring for me is 3.5

Dear Guest,
Thank you for taking the time to send us your rating.
We're delighted you found our breakfast selection satisfying and that our team provided attentive care for dietary requirements.
It's wonderful to know your suite met your comfort expectations and that our housekeeping services maintained impeccable standards throughout your stay. Our well-equipped gym facilities aim to cater to diverse wellness needs, and we're pleased this enhanced your experience.
That said, we sincerely regret that some aspects did not meet your expectations. While our reception team strives to accommodate early arrivals, we acknowledge the importance of clear wayfinding support. Our pool maintenance schedule includes multiple daily checks, and we've reinforced staffing protocols during peak service hours. Regarding evening amenities, our concierge team remains available to recommend nearby leisure options from our curated local partnerships.
Finally, we're glad our privileged La Caleta location provided convenient access to Tenerife's renowned culinary scene. The surrounding volcanic landscapes truly make this coastline one of Europe's most distinctive destinations.
We hope that you will return on a future occasion.
Best regards,
Andrea Gomez - Guest Experience Manager

Extremely disappointing handling of a serious data protection incident**

When I checked in, I noticed that my former partner’s contact details were still attached to my booking. I immediately raised this with reception, made it absolutely clear that the details were incorrect and specifically stated that nothing was to be sent to those contact details. I also crossed out the incorrect information and provided my own details on the documentation.
Despite this, the hotel subsequently sent my former partner a dinner reservation confirmation.
I immediately reported the incident to the Duty Manager and requested to speak with the General Manager. The response was slow and I was repeatedly left having to chase for updates rather than being proactively reassured about what was being done.
Since returning home, I have attempted repeatedly to escalate the matter, including contacting senior management within the Barceló Group. Despite this, I have received no meaningful response or acknowledgement.
I have emailed 5 times and contacted the hotel via telephone 2 times this week. Again I have had no response.

Great hotel and enjoyable stay but a few quibbles

We are enjoying the last day or our 10 day stay at the Royal Hideaway Corales Suites in La Caleta. Lots of positives to our holiday, 2 adults and 3 kids aged 14, 11 and 7;
- Rooms are fabulous, well appointed, specious and very clean and tidy. Housekeeping is very thorough morning and night (we were in suite 1413).
- Breakfast spread is excellent, huge choice and excellent quality but it gets busy after 9.30am and therefore you will have to wait for items off the hot food station - eggs, waffles, pancakes etc
- Pool is lovely, open 9am to 7pm each day, always busy but not over crowded and never a problem to get sunbeds and towels.
- Staff are generally excellent, helpful, polite and accommodating (although we found the older chap working the pool area most days a bit over zealous, day 1 he warned us that we must not leave out staff but the pool whilst we went for breakfast. Understood but we only wanted a quick swim and weren't trying to save sun beds, there is no need. A bit sharp)
- Jonnie doing the Aqua Aerobics daily at midday was excellent and we enjoyed this as a family most days.
- The local town of Caleta is lovely, pretty with numerous dining options and only a few minutes walk away.
A few areas for us that we were a little disappointed, and hence 4 stars not 5;
- The wifi throughout the hotel is not good. Constantly on and off, quite irritating when u have 3 kids who need some downtime out of the sun and I had a couple of work video calls that had to be abandoned. I called reception twice to report this, it was shrugged off and no one ever called me back. Not ideal.
- We had a power cut one morning at 5am, I was just waking for the day. Reported it straight away but there was a real lack of urgency to resolve it. It was fixed just before 9am, just a tripped fuse in a locked cupboard outside for the room, took ma maintenance chap 10 seconds to sort. Obviously we were unable to make morning coffee, had no wifi etc. Despite calling reception twice and being assured someone was on the way it took nearly 4 hours to resolve and no communication from the hotel or offer to fetch us coffee etc. These things happen but expected a better response.
- There is a lovely bar by the pool but no other bar in the hotel which we found a little strange. No where to have a pre dinner drink / nibble.
- There a numerous Michelin star restaurants that I am sure are fabulous but obviously not suitable for kids and the only other hotel option for food is to eat back at the same restaurant as breakfast (pizza / pasta) or get room service. Both options are good but it would have been helpful to have another restaurant or two if you don't fancy venturing out.
All in all an excellent hotel and a very enjoyable stay but a number of areas where they could improve the customer experience.

Dear Guest,
We value your feedback and the points you’ve highlighted.
We are delighted your family appreciated the spaciousness of your suite and the dedication of our housekeeping team. It’s wonderful to know our breakfast offerings and pool area added to your enjoyment, and that you found our staff welcoming throughout your stay.
That said, we sincerely regret that some aspects fell short of your expectations. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by technical disruptions and have taken note of your feedback to improve our response times. Regarding dining options, while we offer two restaurants and room service, we understand your desire for more variety and will consider this in future planning.
Nonetheless, we’re thrilled you enjoyed Jonnie’s aqua aerobics sessions and the charm of Caleta’s local town, just steps from our doors.
We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future.
Sincerely,
Andrea Gomez - Guest Experience Manager

As good as the reviews say!

Genuinely the best hotel we’ve stayed in. The staff can’t do enough for you and are all so pleasant.
Kids loved the kids club, lots going on everyday.
The food is exceptional - THE BEST breakfast ever, lots to choose from and the chefs will cook you whatever you want fresh.
The rooms are stunning, we had a sea view room with a massive balcony and it was beautiful So clean and with a service twice a day if you want it.
A visit to the hotels Gelateria is a must - loads of flavours that you don’t normally see and decent portions too. I didn’t get the name of the lady who worked there but she was lovely.
The pool is great, salt water but not really salty like some - no fighting for sun loungers, always seemed to be loads available. The only thing is that the tiles around the pool are extremely slippy, my son slipped and I noticed a few others did too.
The area of Caleta is lovely, food is mostly great. They seem to be doing lots of construction and development within the area, none of which disturbed us - you wouldn’t even know half the time.
Thank you for such a pleasant stay, fantastic!
