A gem of a hotel!
Fantastic hotel in the Old Town district.
Newly refurbished, clean and beautifully restored.
We had a lovely short stay (3 nights) with our older children (late teens). The rooms have almost everything you need (hooks for towels and robes would be welcomed!)
The breakfast was excellent with a hot and cold selection and warm gluten free bread amongst the best I have ever had!
The hotel feels peaceful amongst the busy surroundings and it is a great base to explore from. The nearest metro is a stones throw away.
The rooftop bar and pool are by far the best feature of the hotel. The staff on the roof are brilliant, they were always smiling and pleased to help. The snacks are well prepared and the range of cocktails and cold drinks was perfect for us. The pool is small but an excellent addition to the roof area. We used it every day!
We had a great experience and would return!

#1 hotel in La Rambla
Outstanding hotel with high standard and great architecture and interior design, perfectly located at La Rambla street with short proximity to shopping areas, top restaurants, and just an 18min walk to Barceloneta beach. Great staff , great service ! We will certainly revisit.

Slightly disappointing, but a beautiful Hotel
We went as a couple for a long weekend and decided to break the trip up into two hotels. The first hotel was really nice lots of facilities was really happy. We thought we would book the hotel España for one night as a treat as it was a bit more expensive and we decidedto go with the premium rooms with the Private balcony on the top floor as the rambla suite wasn’t available we went for the one down. Even though on a message I wrote the time of my arrival. They still wouldn’t let us check in till 3 pm which is fair enough, but this should’ve been explained as we was disappointed when we arrived and The Man at the reception made it quite awkward and had a bit of an attitude about it and then My girlfriend had to put her make-upon in the lobby which wasn’t that big of an issue really but added to the awkwardness. When we went out and come back, I decided to check out the rooftop bar doesn’t look like the pictures even though the hotel is gorgeous and has some of the nicest decor I’ve ever seen And is quite beautiful, if you go around the wrong corner on the streets it’s quite a rough area which Takeaway from the luxury Fee of the Hotel
Also with the top floor being right next to the rooftop by there’s quite a lot of noise at night and we had to listen to banging andloud conversations whilst we were trying to get to sleep which isn’t really something you expect for a premium room and we noticed that the rambler which is the most expensive is right next to the rooftop bar which would’ve completely ruined it if you could hear the bar as we could hear it loud and clear even though we was behind the soundproof door which didn’t really work that well and TV didn’t have Netflix which was disappointing. It’s quite basic the room. The rest of the staff were lovely and the breakfast is amazing and we were abit disappointed that we couldn’t use the restaurant which is supposedly Mitchell in star but they weren’t open on the day that we was there.

Lovely hotel, in a great location
We’ve just returned from 3 nights in Barcelona. We stayed at Hotel
Espagna. The hotel is in a great location, close to liceu station on the metro making it easy to visit places of interest using public transport but also on foot.
We travelled with my parents and were welcomed warmly. Our rooms were not quite ready but we left our luggage with reception while we had a drink in the sunshine on the rooftop terrace. Great spot for a drink in the centre of Barcelona with a lovely pool to cool off in.
The rooms are comfortable and clean. The shower was great, with lovely toiletries.
The breakfast is excellent with plenty of choice, catering for all diners. Special thanks to Javier and the team at breakfast who welcomed us everyday with smiles and ensured we had all we needed and more.
All of the staff are great, in particular Anna Paola and Javier for their service and attention.
We would recommend the hotel and would happily return if we visit Barcelona again. Thank you

PERFECTO
The hotel is so beautiful! The rooms, the restaurant, the roof terrace with pool… everything was perfectly decorated and muy bellísimo. Prime location in La Rambla, close to everything. The staff is so friendly and helpful as well. Couldn’t ask for a better stay.
