City hotel
An old fashioned city hotel which gave the feeling of old grandeur - especially when you looked at the bathrooms. There have been a few touches of renovation as some of the furniture was modern and while the beds were a bit hard for my liking they were comfy nevertheless. The air conditioning was on all the time which was amazing and made you look forward to going back after a long day in hot and sticky Barcelona.
The rooms were spotlessly clean so full credit to the housekeeping team who obviously did an excellent job! Finally, the hotel is very close to the Metro with frequent and direct services to the city centre which took about 20 mins.
A dark spot in our experience was the price for breakfast! I was shocked to find out that it was 19.90€ per person per day which I think it was ridiculously overpriced. Especially when I could have booked through Booking.com which offered it at a fraction of the price but when I was booking I thought that I’d book through the hotel’s website and I’d pay for breakfast on site. Bad decision! So, of course, I opted out. There were plenty of places to have good breakfast around so no biggie.

Never again
Ok so where did it all go wrong. After reading good reviews I decided to book Thursday till Monday 13th till 17 th. Nice enough when arrived. First experience of breakfast cold eggs bacon beans nothing hot and no hot plates switch on. Staff really couldn’t care terrible service from two young girls nobody watching them just left to get on with it and the pair of them just didn’t give a care. First night air conditioning leaking all over wardrobe wet clothes staff couldn’t give a monkeys Maintenance came the next day fixed the problem was given two tiny cakes no apology’s. Then stood on screws that he hadn’t bothered to put back in piercing my foot in several places as there was several of them dotted around the floor again no apologies even when I handed the screws back with my blood on them. So following morning cold scrambled eggs, cold bacon, cold beans coffee machine is not working or only half working ask the girls to fix them was given dirty looks and yeah you’ve guessed it didn’t get fixed complain to management didn’t care. Finally this morning upon leaving hey ho no milk in the coffee machines ask the girls to replace that got a funny look off both finally replace the milk only for the coffee to run out ask them to replace the coffee we’ll get to it in a minute, thankfully we had to leave early so I didn’t have to wait complain to management dumb look on all of their faces. Do apologise nothing we can do. Would I stay here again? Absolutely no awful service clean Hotel but awful service.

Fantastic room, perfect location.
Excellent service, amenities, and location.
The breakfast is very complete, with multiple options depending on your tastes or dietary needs.
The room was very spacious, with perfect lighting for the night and the ideal temperature (air conditioning) for the month of July.
It is very close to Sants station, and it allowed me to walk to catch the RENFE train.

Special Attention…
It is a very family-friendly hotel, with easy access to the restaurant, gym, rooms, etc., with a privileged location within the city, but the most important thing is the excellent customer service; whenever I visit Barcelona I come to the NH Sant Barcelona, here I feel at home thanks to all the staff.
